ICE Or Mech?
what do I prefer seniors? I have 16.8k rank (obc), I might get these only in csab. Which one has better opportunities in core?

I need assistance for choosing a laptop 💻
I have the following questions,
•Whether a gaming laptop with dedicated gpu is absolutely necessary or a slim laptop with good processor will suffice ? (I'm not into gaming)
•Which storage capacity (512gb/1tb) is recommended ?
Thanks in advance .
Hey seniors. Planning to join ice branch in nitt as my advanced didnot go well. Can you tell me what are its future prospects and things i should know before joining this branch
Pls help 😇😇
hie so i got cs in srm and i hve also secured 97% in jee main paper 2A for B.ARCH i hve gotten 2k rank so i can get nit's like patna, calicut, nsut easily but i hve read architecture has no future in india but i hve also heard bad things bout srm so WHT SHLD I CHOOSE CSE OR NIT basically.
edit: i know these are two rlly diff fields BUT I RLLY DONT YK CARE BOUT THE FIELDS all i want is stability, better growth and placements be it from nit or be it with cs. I CAN LIT STUDY ARCHITECTURE/MECHANICAL/CS/LLB i hve never had a problem with fields so i better choose the one tht offers the best benefits

title
I hv scored 99.57 percentile and I'm obc
But I fked up my adv scoring around 100 marks
I was thinking of joing nit Trichy eee but my friend is suggesting me to try for lower branches in top iits like ceramic in bhu and biosciene in Guwahati or mec h at bhilai
Is iit tag that important that I leave top iits' top branch for a lower iits' lower branch?
I'm confused between these two options which is better nitt ece or IITM Ocean engineering/ metallurgy
I dont have any inclinations towards any branch of engineering. I am stuck between choosing NIT T chem or calicut ece ...I kind of want to study at Trichy but the general perception is that chemE job market is saturated and ece got more options. How does the research line looks like in chemE? I might like reseach
Fucked up my adv real bad,
Getting NIT Allahabad cse here,
ECE in NIT K,
DTU cse
NSUt cse
IIIT Bangalore is too expensive plus it has other problems too
High chance of IIIT h ECE,
Pleas help me seniors 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻.
My priority - good blend of OP placements plus college life(I can compromise a bit on college life but not on placements as I have to earn big as I got railed in jee adv so there would atleast be some respect for me in my home 😭😭😭).
Can only except tier 3 IITs lower branches 💔
Help , as title , im getting all this , as per last year cutoffs , i think i have a interest in physics that why i wanna go for ece but its not fix tho , and i heard ece will boom because of the new semiconductor projects and ai industry booming and requiring ece, i heard u need to go get a masters if u truly want a good electronics job , i dont mind goong for abroad masters , placements also id like for it to be good , if i dont got for masters , please help.
Is there any cgpa requirement to choose it, why doesn't every lower branch kid go for it since it will open so many opportunities.
Also if u want to get into IT, or go abroad as a backup which branch will be best civil, production or metallurgy?
Also how many companies of the total allow cs minor guys from lower branches
I'm looking at joining ICE in nit Trichy, but what I want to know is if it's possible to sir for software tiles and if it's easy or hard changing patha like that. Ofc it won't be easy but I would like to knows if it's been done and how its been done, if someone has experience please let me know
Hey everyone,
I’m currently caught in the classic "Branch vs. College Tag" dilemma and would love some realistic perspectives from seniors or alumni who faced a similar choice.
I am trying to choose between ECE at NIT Trichy and Mechanical Engineering at a Top 7 IIT or should I choose IIT BHU ECE , I might get EE at top say 12 IIT shluld I prefer that than NITT ECE
Right now, I don't have a rigid, unchangeable passion for either electronics or mechanics. I want to make an informed decision considering placements, workload, and future flexibility. Preferably I wanted to go to SOFTWARE based roles
To help me decide, I’d love to get insights on the following questions
seniors please do help
I am a prospective PhD candidate under HSS to NIT Trichy. I have NET and GATE 2025, what funding option do I select in the application process in order to avail a fellowship? Does GATE and NET come under external funding? Thank you so very much for your help in advance.
Edit: what certificate are they asking to attach for “Full time externally funded research scholar”
