Pearl was completely absolved of any blame upon arriving in Homeworld. In fact, she was warmly welcomed for having remained loyal to her Diamond until the very end. Because of that, she was assigned to assist Rosyn.

Even so, she carries the crushing weight of guilt. Not only because of the enormous secret she was forced to keep for Pink Diamond for so long, but also because she had failed to protect Steven. The realization that Rose was truly gone forever, and that Steven was dead, was almost more than she could bear.

Then Rosyn appeared.

Pink had told her about him once. About how White kept him trapped inside a bubble, isolated from the world for being considered “off-color.”

When Pearl finally met him, she found someone small, lost, and utterly disconnected from everything around him. Just as out of place as she was herself. And in that very moment, she made a decision: she would take care of him. She would do everything in her power to help him survive that cold, cruel, oppressive world.

Today, Rosyn has grown.

Tall and imposing, he has become everything one would expect from a true Diamond.

And sometimes, Pearl catches herself wondering if perhaps he no longer needs her. If she has become nothing more than an elegant ornament, something beautiful to be displayed and nothing more.

But at the end of the day, it is in her arms that Rosyn falls apart when he doesn’t want anyone to see his weakness.

She is the one he turns to.

Not the Diamonds.

Not Jasper.

Her.

And as pathetic as it may seem in her own eyes, Rosyn is all she has left. The only thing still keeping her standing.

The only reason she keeps moving forward.

Note 1: Pearl has had many different designs. Changes to her appearance have always followed Rosyn’s design changes, which have been numerous over time.

Note 2: Rosyn enjoys designing clothes, so he creates both his own outfits and those of his favorite Gems. He also owns a highly successful clothing and accessories brand among Gem society.

Note 3: In Gem society, wearing clothes and accessories is a strong symbol of status. There will be a separate post dedicated to exploring this in more detail.

Note 4: I know Gems originally don’t have ears. But in my art style, that was starting to look really strange to me, so I thought, well, this is my AU, so they’re going to have ears. They already have eyes (for the most part), noses, and mouths, so why wouldn’t they have ears?

After having his gem removed, Steven was sent to the Sanctuary (the Human Zoo) by the Diamonds, where he grew up without any memory of his true origins.

Belonging to the Southern Tribe, whose main goddess is the , Star never allowed his fragile health to define who he was. Despite his limitations, he always showed a natural talent for the arts: he sings, dances, draws, and acts, the whole package. A true rising star.

Optimistic, playful, and extremely outgoing, Star possesses a genuine empathy and a rare ability to understand the people around him. He also has an almost supernatural talent for getting himself into trouble. And although he carries a mischievous and slightly malicious side, his presence still feels like a living flame, capable of warming and illuminating the hearts of everyone he meets.

Wherever he goes, his light enchants everyone around him, and of course, Rosyn would be no exception.

Note 1: Star hasn’t changed all that much. He’s just taller and thinner now, to better reflect his age, and has become even more similar to his mother.

A bit about the design: this is just a sketch for now, so it might change quite a bit, especially since I’m not sure what will work well in digital yet. I’m also a little unsure about whether I should keep her eyes visible or not.

The idea was to give her a “war goddess” vibe, but still keep her elegant and refined, since she doesn’t really fight anymore haha.

Anyway, I’m totally open to suggestions, ideas, or even references. I feel like something’s still missing, I just can’t quite tell what.

White’s influence shaped Rosyn into someone emotionally numb, egocentric, and with almost no compassion for others. She taught him to be perfect, to be like her.

Because he lacked an innate purpose, Rosyn had to learn what his role was: to become a leader, a “god” to the Gems, and, in doing so, help make the Empire even more glorious.

An unyielding leader, capable of inspiring obedience, respect, and fear.

Rosyn is deeply rational and logical, yet still displays an extravagant and dramatic personality, marked by ironic and sarcastic humor.

As a Gem who is emotional by nature, his mood can shift drastically, going from pleasant to irritated in a matter of seconds, yet, paradoxically, his emotional control remains remarkable.

Note 1: This is the official character sheet format that will be used as the standard for all characters from now on.

Note 2: In addition to the major design changes, I also reworked a lot of the lore. Rosyn is no longer part of Steven. he is now a completely new Diamond.

I also changed the AU’s name to Rupture Point AU (hopefully for the last time). Divide AU ended up feeling too simple and no longer fit the concept.
