I recently updated the game after months of not playing, but now it has so much lag that I can't even play for a minute. Even the settings screen is slow.

I changed the settings, I'm trying to play at 30 FPS and low quality preset, I even checked and updated my laptop drivers and nothing will work. I bought my laptop just last year and it has 16 GB of RAM and a Core i5, it usually runs games like Sims and Paralives just fine, and I even played Coral Island with no problems last year.

I don't know if it has something to do with the update or what else I can try. I was really excited to play with the new update.
