How many play throughs are too many?

I’ve kind of maxed out everything I can do at the moment in my current game. Just have to get the town to S rank. Should I start a third play through and romance someone else? And put all I’ve learnt to good use? How many is too many?

Waiting for Agung

I have a save I've been working on in preparation for 1.3, and I've just unlocked the merfolk kingdom and got my fins. I'm planning to romance Agung... I know his romance is late game, do we think I'm good to build up his hearts before the update? Or should I hold off in case any new content for earlier heart levels or new dialogue drops? The dev's notes make it seem like there won't be much changing with Agung until 8 hearts and up, but what do we think?

What a grind for all trophies (PS5), now I wait for 1.3!

First time picking up the game, really enjoyed this take on the farming sim genre.

Took me 151 hours… 😅

Question about Co-op mode

My husband and I have just played our first coop session (he is brand new to the game). How do we share resources? Are most of the quests separate so we have to do everything twice?

Kids Grow Up Question

Has it been explained how the update will affect existing saves? I’m in Year 3, almost Year 4, so I was wondering if the kids will age retroactively when the update kicks in or if they will start aging from the point the update comes out! I’m starting a new save when the update drops as well but curious about older ones!

Becoming mayor

This would be available after teir S

A time jump forward in sense of your kids getting older, and so does Connor. He wants to retire. He wants you to be his replacement, but like they said before, they didn't really elect him in, the town just picked him. He wants the same for you

Need to have a great relationship with most of, if not all of the town. You can accept or decline, you don't have to do this.

Would give new things to do. Managing a small island town. Make a positive future for the town for your kids and the townspeople.

Would be asking alot for an update I know. But I think of games like no mans sky and see how far they've come, and I always think like that with games im enjoying way more than I thought I would.

Things that confuse me in Coral Island as a Palia player

In gerenal there’s a lot that confused me or I dislike, but I wonder if there are others who feel the same way or maybe feel the other way around about Palia hahha.

  1. The running mechanics, it’s set up as running but still feels slow.
  2. Storage mechanics, what do you mean i have to remember what i keep in each single storage? That’s a nightmare compared to the single storage unit in Palia that you can access through the different chests + filters.
  3. The fact that I can not craft furniture and everything should be bought
  4. That tools are considered a part of the storage (or maybe it’s called differently). I think they should be separate and accessed separately. Give me my full storage space please.
  5. Weird one, but that I can not rotate the camera angle / view

Trouble completing the museum. What am I missing?

Hi, I am a S tier in everything but the museum. I seem to be missing quite a few bugs and some fossils and fish. I have opened so many coffers have bug traps and check my computer daily to see if there is anything in the forecast that I've missed. My question is how can I track what I dont have? Then, how can I guarantee that I can get it? Thank you so much for your help!

Yet another help me pick a wife.

So I am torn between Chaem, Suki, and Eva.

I love all three of them and keep going back and forth on who I want to choose. I am at the point now I have to ask one of them to be my girlfriend (I know I could ask all three but just want to do one)

So help me choose. Do you have any insights or gripes about any of these three to share? I feel like Suki might just win since I like the idea of Valentina being my stepdaughter…

Commiserate with me

So I had finally found and restored the underwater beacons, I made my final offering to the goddess and was about to get my greenhouse, I had made my 200th donation at the museum… life was going well. I got back to my farm and was finishing up some chores… I was overly tired as I was making my way to sleep. My wife asked for a favor. So I paused the game and went to do it… as I came back I noticed that my son had shut it off and I lost everything.

Hey yall, first time player here! I’m in fall year 1. Is there an easy way to make money?!? I feel like I’m constantly running out of money and it’s hard to try and upgrade anything. Any advice??

Love this game too much for my sanity

(This is more venting than reporting because I don’t know what caused it, but it was shortly after finishing the song of the sea, so maybe that’s it?)

I lost a whole day, which has happened often but not for ages! I’d just finished decorating my whole house AND underwater farm AND finally got the last large mermoo milk I needed, and all after a particularly bad morning irl. This may have broken me lol.

But I’m still going to come back tomorrow and do it all again cos there’s a reason I’ve got 200hrs in game!! Everything about it is so soothing and cozy, I can’t wait for the next update. The devs really do feed us well.

Also I still haven’t decided who to marry this go around, leaning a little towards Scott/Wakuu/Noah/Surya. What does everyone think of them??

Shiny cheese??? and me

Why is my ✨cheese wheel✨ shiny? Is this a random thing?

I checked all other osmium-quality animal products, but none had this shiny effect.

I wish Coral Island were more... tropical.

Ok it's an opinion piece and maybe a hot (and stupidly humid!) take. Feel free to disagree because this is just me ranting into the void and not really a request for change lmao.

I have over 200+ hours of playtime by now so I have to preface this by saying, yes, I DO enjoy the game and I still play it regularly. However I'll always mourn the fact that CI is trying too much to mimic SV... now before you throw insults at me, hear me out.

I get that they wanted to play safe by playing into a mechanism that people were already familiar with, but they had a completely new and unique environment to work with! The island was based on real places with tropical climate, so why not build a completely new farming mechanics?

Instead of the default four seasons mechanics, why not create a new one around the dry/monsoon/rainy season found in SEA countries? And maybe change the windy weather to humid weather, where it does directly affect crops, because I don't think windy does anything in the game.

So I hear ya, the winter season is used as a off time to mine and upgrade your things from a gameplay perspective. While tropical farming IRL is generally more of a year-round labor, rainfall (or lack of it) can put a pause on your farm, providing the player with the same function as "winter" (when it's too dry to plant without massive amount of water). But then again in the typical 4-seasons farm sim, by the end of the first year you gain the ability for year-round farming anyway via the greenhouse, so it's not like it's THAT different.

And heck maybe throw farming features often found in SEA too, like terraced fields, or the usage of water buffaloes for tilling fields (we have buffalo in game! Talk about missed opportunity). Introduce something like agroforestry (this is a common farming method in Indonesia where the studio is based on) where you can combine different types of trees/crops to create better quality products and protect crops from extreme weather. Maybe add some pest management too on top of that. And also the crop selections? Why don't we have nutmeg in this game?

It's a nice cozy farm sim and I applaud the team for creating a fun game laced with SEA elements like this. I just can't help but feel they tried to be SV with a different skin when they have so much potential. This isn't going to change CI but I hope it could inspire them or a different studio/gamedev to explore this niche more. I can't be the only hoping for those kind of games, right? I appreciate you reading all the way here, so I'd like to hear your thoughts too :)

Sweet evolves or ages into a new type of pet

Also needing the relationship to be at least 5 or 8 hearts. It can now fallow you into the mines and fight the monsters for you. So becoming more of a utility like a horse. You know like palworld?

Mark’s Events

Hi! I’m planning on adopting the dog in Mark’s events. I’ve only seen one event in my current save, but I’ve seen the rest in my old one. I just want to ask if it will mess up Mark’s events if I adopt her immediately? Or is it just the immersion that’s gonna break? Thanks!

Catch Altar - Fish and Insect List

I couldn't find quite what my brain finds helpful for this (there is the lovely Coral Guide and I've seen some other helpful and pretty graphics as well) where I had a list to show everything at once so I wasn't going back and forth looking at individual items for the details so I typed one up myself based on the Wiki. I just thought I would share here in case anyone else found it helpful. I just did the Fish and Insects for the Catch Altar as I found the Ocean Critters one I naturally got just from clearing the trash but it was the others in my first play that I found myself waiting seasons for as I had missed when they were available which I wanted to avoid when playing through again.

If you notice anything amiss, please do let me know.

I made my farmer an npc

I got bored and turned my farmer into an npc, I tried to make sure that all the outfits and hair I used were actually from the store in game too. My farmer is a gentle soul who loves her animals and quiet days on the farm, also secretly thirsts after rafaels biceps
