Pergola / carport post anchors for hurricane zone

Does anyone have any experience with hurricane rated post bases for a covered wood carport / pergola structure in Florida? Approx dimensions would be 10 feet x 20 feet

Was thinking of making posts by laminating three 2x6 x10s together vs using a 6x6…so post base would have to work with 4.5 x 5.5 dimensions

Can post bases be anchored into 6 inch thick driveway or do I need to cut concrete and embed post bases in some kind of poured concrete footing?

Thanks for any help!

I’m assuming all the posts should have knee braces as well….

Popping out that metal grate and removing the directional fins

I’m not telling anyone what to do with their machine and I have no idea how this impacts warranty (although I don’t see why it should) but removing the directional fins and that metal grate from in front of the squirrel cage wheel makes cleaning this unit 100 times easier.

If you pop off the oscillating fan cover, you have total access to clean the squirrel cage wheel squeaky clean with no obstructions. I just use my wife’s toothbrush….

I’m kidding

This combined with getting a pressurized spray bottle to wash down the evaporator coil every week or so and this unit should never have a mold issue.
