Wake up time and breakfast

My daughter always struggle with breakfast and I observed that she is a bit more open to eating breakfast if she’s been awake for > 45 minutes rather than waking up and eating right away. I have an older son in middle school who will be home and getting ready for school at the same time so it’s not possible for me to leave and drop off my daughter to daycare and have her eat there, etc.

Should I wake her up at 7 so she can eat breakfast around 7:45-8 and leave by 8:30-8:45? Or let her sleep in and try eat breakfast in school (timing wise, she’ll probably have 15-20 mins but knowing kids, I doubt if she’d be able to take more than a bite or 2 for breakfast in school).

Their dad is home for the summer so we’re still able to wing it for 2 weeks but gotta start figuring this out as I’ll be handling morning routine all by myself.

Birthday for 11 year old

We have a modest 1400 sq ft home and want to host a simple Asian birthday lunch for our son. Food is not a problem for me to prepare. Would love to extend the invite to my son’s school friends however, I’m not a party organizer type and quite introvert in nature and not quite sure how to entertain. I refuse to burn $$$ for organized parties in establishments. Grew up to a lot of family parties however, I’m one of the youngest so never really experienced socializing in parties (kept to myself reading a book after I ate lol) … What do 11-12 year old kids do in home parties? We have limited space

12 days in Southern California

We are planning a trip to Southern California this summer and will be there for 12 days (Wednesday to Monday) with 11 and 3.5 yrs old kids. Day 1-3 are blocked for family get-togethers. Day 4 is open but thinking to keep it relaxed and enjoy the resort (Newport) we will be in. We will checkout and stay for 3 days with a relative who lives closer to Disney.
Day 5 Disney
Day 6 DCA
Day 7 Aquarium of Pacific (planning to stay at a Long beach hotel)
Day 8 Drive down to San Diego, planning to make coastal stops
then rest of the days are spent touring SD (safari, zoo and uss midway) til early flight the following Monday.

Would you sacrifice going to the Aquarium and instead make that another day in Disney? Or would you keep it this itinerary (it is what it is/do what is possible)? It’s our first time.
