Looking for recommendations on areas to live in London – couple, £1,700–£2,000 budget
Hi everyone! My wife and I are moving to London from India and are looking for a 1-bedroom apartment for the two of us.
Our requirements/preferences:
🏠 1-bedroom entire apartment (not a room/flatshare)
👩❤️👨 For a couple
💷 Budget: £1,700/month preferred, £2,000/month maximum
🛋️** Fully furnished prefer**red
🚇 Ideally 40–60 minutes commute to my workplace near Barbican
🏢 Prefer a relatively modern building/apartment
🛒 Good access to supermarkets such as Tesco/Aldi/Sainsbury’s would be helpful
🇮🇳 Indian grocery shops/markets nearby would be a plus
🌳 Prefer a safe, quiet residential area rather than a party/nightlife-heavy area
🚆 Good public transport connectivity is important
What areas would you recommend for our requirements and budget? Are there any areas you would specifically avoid?
Also, if you live in a similar setup, I’d really appreciate any advice on typical rent, good buildings/developments, commute, and things to watch out for when renting.
