I have tried to delete an old twitter account of mine for literally years now, no luck. Just trying to clear up my digital footprint. Find out today that the original email I used with it doesn’t even exist anymore, so that’s done.

I just learned about the handle marketplace. If I was desperate enough - am I able to request the handle of the old, inactive account to essentially overwrite it? The name isn’t rare by any means, and the account hasn’t been active since 2014.

Then after a month or however long when they switch me back to the old one after I unsubscribe, the old account should in theory be wiped away?

Anyone have any luck with this or think it would work?
