Built my first SFFPC (for my partner!)

Recently upgraded my GPU from a 5070 to a 5080 and my partner of 5 years told me they wanted to get into pc gaming since all her friends play pc games (BG3, Outlast trials, Black Myth Wukong). I worked with her on finding a “cute”/“house-friendly” gaming pc! She went with the fractal Terra… if only she told me a month earlier since I had an email from valve to buy the steam machine on launch. (Granted this thing slam dunks it) also is the AMD cpu I chose a good one? I don’t understand AMD’s naming scheme at all even after researching the naming scheme convention and haven’t upgraded my cpu since beginning of 2021 to an 11th gen intel.

I admittedly half-assed guessed the pc parts besides the 5070 since that was coming from my PC.

Lead Poisoning is real

I thought it was a meme about boomers but since working in a coffee shop again after university holy fuck the amount of brain dead fat orca fucks who come through the line wanting flavored bullshit we don’t have and the look of disgust and confusion when they must pick something different. They are all confused and look like dementia riddled victims when we’re closed and I won’t take their orders. Seriously though, they treat shit like a conveyor belt and everything had to be the dunkin drive thru “three pumps of caramel, light ice, soy milk” “I’m sorry we don’t have caramel but we have these flavors made in ho-“ “WHAT??? Y’ALL SHOULD HAVE CARAMEL, HOW CAN YOU BE A COFFEE SHOP AND NOT HAVE CARAMEL?”

Or oh my fucking god the amount of times I’ve had to hear about the price of things or the cup size. Why do these fat pig fucks need a 32+ Oz of sugar milk with two shots of espresso they can’t taste? Is this just an American thing or what, when I worked at a cafe in London during uni we didn’t have tips we didn’t bullshit orders no nun was completely different

Have you ever worked at a café where nothing is broken?

Fetco touch screen has ghost touch, so you can’t leave the drip gaskets fully in. The La Marzocco we use has portafilters that collide into each other if they are used on different group heads. The middle group head pulls shots about 5 seconds slower. The left steam wand handle is loose and steams slower than the right side. I can go on for hours. This is all just at the current place I work at, but every single coffee shop I’ve worked at, be it in high school in PA or in undergrad in London, there is always ‘something’… what gives? Is it really just if it ain’t broke don’t fix it? I get that things are expensive and margins are razor thin in most non chain coffee shops but we’re in a big city (at least the place I work at is) and generate a hefty amount daily in revenue.

US citizen (part of resume work experience was during my undergrad in the UK). I recently moved back to the US and I am working full-time 25/hr at a coffee shop in DC. Hoping to relocate to NYC in the next 12 months as I have family who live there alongside my partner starting to look for jobs there (she already has 1+ year in a full-time in her field). I'm currently working on getting my Dante Certification for levels 1 & 2 this week and then AVIXA CTS + Q-SYS Level 1. Is this resume acceptable for applying to part-time positions? I've felt a bit lost as two internships I've interviewed for, since returning to DC, both said I was "overqualified" and didnt hire me. Any advice?

Is Faceit as toxic as Premier?

Recently I've given faceit a try and placed level 5, I've been playing matches ranging from "fair" where both teams are around the similar level as I am to matches where the enemy team has a level 2 and then we wipe them 13-1 etc. The reverse happened to me today where I was placed on the same team with a level 2 who pretended to have down syndrome and speak with a lisp, breaking it when he wanted to trash talk teammates, and was placed with this same player and his duo the next match who repeatedly shouted on mic and laughed/tried to humilate me whenever I died alongside shooting me and general targeted griefing. Is this just common sublevel 8+ or something? I'm not anywhere level 8 in skill, but it feels extremely unproductive and frankly not fun at all to play, and I'm not quite sure how to even learn from these matches to improve and be a better CS2 player.
