Why doesn’t Cedar Point have an immersive/interactive ride?
So Cedar Point is my home park. I grew up going there, and obviously it has the greatest coaster lineup anywhere.
But after recently revisiting Orlando and going to Disney/Universal again, I started thinking about the variety of attractions they have. Obviously they don’t have nearly as many roller coasters, but they have a lot more immersive, interactive, and simulation type rides. Examples: Harry Potter, Spiderman or Transformers rides at Universal
Has anybody ever considered Cedar Point adding a big immersive dark ride like that? I honestly think it could be a really good addition. You could have the queue inside and get people out of the heat, it would be a completely different vibe from riding coaster after coaster, and it could also attract families or people who aren’t necessarily interested in the biggest roller coasters.
I’ve personally always loved the roller coasters, but as I’m getting older (late 20s now), I feel like riding coaster after coaster can start to feel a little redundant sometimes. I think a really well done immersive dark ride would be a great switch up.
Is there a reason Cedar Point or the other Cedar Fair/Six Flags parks haven’t really gone this route? (haven’t been to every park so not sure if there aren’t any but as far as I know there aren’t any great ones?) Are major immersive rides just way more expensive, or is it more that they don’t really fit the type of parks they’re trying to be?
