This game is overly stale.
I’ve played this game on and off since launch, but every mission plays the same exact way, no matter the main objective. I play on the max difficulty, and it’s not even that hard, but it renders 90% of the weapons just useless. If I play on an easier difficulty it’s not fun to walk through AI toddlers.
The missions are literally just go to location, activate objective, get swarmed whether or not you were detected since it’s automatic, do the same side objectives as every other mission, then extract. Oh, if you destroy their factories/bugholes/spaceships, you actually make more of them spawn despite being told that’s how you make less enemies appear in the tutorial!
Most of the warbonds are underwhelming, because if one is barely too strong they’re scared the next one won’t sell. As if 700,000,000 USD in just game sales wasn’t enough money.
Speaking of 700,000,000 USD, they like to pretend they’re a small dev team with a tiny budget 2 years later. Idk how much they’ve made from microtransactions, but this game is too stale to justify purchasing anything. The warbonds are too underwhelming to justify grinding currency.
“But bro, if you spend 2 to 4 hours a day treating this game like a second job, then you can get everything for free!” Cool, but every mission plays out the same way and I don’t need new equipment. Is the gameplay loop really just grinding for new equipment to find out that the shit released in the first few months is still just better?
Also, the whole faction war thing is lame. They really need to let us actually win against a faction and that faction is just gone from the system for a while. Otherwise the game feels pointless and going to new planets barely matters. It was cool to be part of the map at the beginning, but now it’s just redundant.
