Not gonna sugarcoat it — VNIT is solid but it's not a one-size-fits-all college.
What's actually good:
- Brand name holds up well for a NIT, especially in Central India
- CSE/ECE placements are decent, some good companies do show up
- Campus is huge, fests are fun, life is chill
- Nagpur is cheap to live in and surprisingly well connected
What people don't say out loud:
- If you're getting a core branch, placements are a different story altogether
- Nagpur has zero startup/tech ecosystem — don't expect the Bangalore NIT experience
- NITs like Trichy, Warangal, Surathkal are genuinely a tier above in reputation
