Hi zusammen!

Ich, bin 30 Jahre alt, komme aus Südkorea und arbeite als Koch in Berlin.

Ich lebe jetzt seit fast drei Jahren in Deutschland. Da ich viel arbeite, hatte ich bisher leider nicht viele Gelegenheiten, internationale Freunde kennenzulernen. Deshalb würde ich mich freuen, neue Leute zu treffen.

Ich interessiere mich für Museen, Ausstellungen, Filme, Kunst und Design. In meiner Freizeit gehe ich gerne spazieren, spiele Tischtennis oder entdecke gute Restaurants und Cafés. Als Koch liebe ich natürlich gutes Essen.

Falls du denkst, dass wir uns gut verstehen könnten, schreib mir gerne. Ich würde mich freuen, neue und nette Freundschaften zu schließen.

Mein Deutsch ist noch nicht perfekt, aber ich lerne jeden Tag und freue mich immer, es im Alltag zu üben.

Hi! I'm a foreigner working as a chef in Berlin. I don't really have many friends in Germany yet, so I feel like I don't have much information about the industry.

I'm 30 years old. I never did a formal culinary apprenticeship (Ausbildung), but I do have professional experience working in kitchens.

I like my current restaurant, but I also think I need to keep progressing for my future. To be honest, I don't think chefs are paid particularly well.

Right now I work full-time (about 160 hours a month) and earn around €2,600-2,700 net per month including tips.

The thing is, I honestly don't know whether that's considered below average, average, or above average for a chef in Berlin.

If you know a lot of chefs or have experience in the industry, I'd really appreciate your advice. Does this sound like a decent place to work, or should I be looking for better opportunities?

Does anyone here know well about Vodafone installation? A Vodafone technician came to my place today, but since I’m a foreigner and don’t speak German well, I couldn’t really understand everything.

As far as I understood, the installation was done, but he said I have to wait for some kind of letter? I thought the internet would work immediately after the technician finished the installation. Is there another step after this???

Honestly, the technician was really unfriendly and didn’t explain things clearly at all.
