Emily D’Angelo Masterclass (!!!)
okay this post is just going to be me having a nerd freakout about getting the chance to have a masterclass with Emily D’Angelo but.
I’m a high school aspiring opera singer, and this summer I attended the Boston University’s summer Tanglewood Institute for Voice which was an amazing opportunity. I was already a huge opera nerd coming into the program, so you can imagine my surprise when I found out that I was selected to perform in a masterclass with one of my favorite mezzos of ALL TIME. I sung Voi Che Sapete for her which was actually insane because she was going to be performing the full role at Tanglewood like two days after the masterclass.
Hearing her voice right next to me instead of on a recording was so absolutely insane and I still can’t believe it happened. I am endlessly grateful to the universe for this opportunity and I even got some cute photos out of it!!!
(Also completely unrelated: She’s absolutely GORGEOUS and my 🏳️🌈 brain was unable to focus on anything else for like the entire class I was a mess lol)
