Can someone help me get in contact with my Teacher - SHIUNA (Ameeniya School) is her name I think?!
So I have been seeing all these screenshots and statuses of students expressing their gratitude to their teachers after their O Levels and this has led to this again
It was right at the beginning of my Secondary Education and despite being academically good, I had struggled with Accounts. My teachers at school did not help at all and I guess I gave up on the subject pretty early in Grade 8 because I was once ridiculed by one of them - I still dont understand why, me trying to keep my book neat would set her off that way. I was scolded just because all the ledger account layouts was printed by me. I was asked to tear off the pages. Granted she didn’t want my book to look any different, she could have simply asked me instead of ridiculing me in front of the entire class.
Anyway, skip to 3 years later, I had struggled simply to pass the subject and decided to get tuition after my mock exams. That was when everything changed and this teacher, was so patient and kindly took the time to explain everything to me.
I did not expect much from this subject in O levels, but to everyone’s and my surprise I had scored the second highest from my school, missing out on the subject prize by just 1 mark and securing an A* in Accounts. I attribute all of it to Shiuna miss (she was teaching in Ameeniya School at the time i think) and I wanted to thank her then but I had immediately moved abroad after my exams and had no way to reach out.
It’s been more than a decade after my O levels now and I have successfully completed my Masters in Accounting and have built my career around the field. Over the years, I have asked around but no one seemed to know how to reach her. So I thought I will ask here one last time.
