Best Places and Family Events for Trick or Treating

Are there any neighborhoods in town where everyone decorates and participates in trick-or-treating?

We did the event last year downtown which was fun but I’d love to just take my young kids to a fun neighborhood where everyone decorates and participates and makes Halloween a fun event for kids to trick-or-treat?

We moved here about a year and a half ago from Georgetown and there were a few neighborhoods around town like this, ours included.

Or if there are any in Belton or Morgan’s Point area that would be great too!

Exhausted

I feel so tired and burned out. I don’t know if I have autism in that I have not had a diagnosis. I did a virtual assessment through Prosper Health but the entire time I felt like I could not relax, fully answer, elaborate or go into detail. It was really exhausting and I felt like I was in a really uncomfortable job interview. I also have really poor recollection of my early childhood which was most of what my assessor focused on. I even stated that I had a pretty difficult childhood and don’t remember a lot of those early years. I do however recall things such as my obsessive special interests, tantrums over going to restaurants, stores, etc. My memorization of books and reciting them over and over around the house…. You get the picture. I did not have the kind of parents who would have ever gotten me assessed or gotten me any kind of support. Fast forward many years, an abusive relationship later, and now in a healthy marriage with two kids, I realize I recognize something in myself and have suspected that it may be autism but I am very good at camouflaging.

For years I have chalked up every single thing about myself that didn’t feel “normal” as anxiety as I was diagnosed with GAD several years ago but now I’m wondering if that’s really what this even is. Over the last year and a half, really since getting pregnant with my second child and his subsequent birth, I just have felt like I can’t keep up with the act anymore but I’m too burned out to seek out another assessment. I also see how filled with vitriol people are over self-diagnosis which I can understand why some people feel that way. I’m also not going around making light of autism or telling everyone I am. I also live in a southern and conservative state where the only autism people around here acknowledge is the type that comes in the shape of a male who is nonverbal. As if there is no way a woman with a husband and kids who holds down a job could ever be autistic.
