What did you get after the p6a?

I'm definitely switching soon, and I am currently considering the 10 lineup as well as an iPhone 17e. But, what did most of you get instead? I look forward to your answers!

Help upgrading from p6a

Hi guys I have a pixel 6A that is becoming pretty hard to use so I want to upgrade to something brand new.

A local retailer has the 10 lineup at a pretty sizable discount given that that 11th generation has recently come out. I can find the pixel 10 Pro XL for ~1100 USD, when it originally was about 1,700 USD.

Keep in mind that I am not from the US so the phones tend to have a bit of a higher markup due to tariffs and the overall state of tech.

Do you think this phone is worth a little over 1k USD considering it's got less than 6 years of support left?

Alternatively I am also considering a pixel 10A at around 750 USD, and in an iPhone 17e at around 800 USD. I feel like either one of these phones would make for a rather boring upgrade that feels more like a refresh of what I've already got rather than upgrading to a higher end smartphone.

However I do recognize that I am more of a light to mixed use user, where I do use my phone mostly for banking apps, two factor authentication, social media, entertainment, and it's cameras. So a high-end phone is not something I would necessarily need, but it's definitely a want.

Specifically, I find myself sometimes wanting a higher resolution screen, and a higher zoom.

Basically, for ~250 extra USD, is the p10pxl worth it over the 10a or switching to an iPhone 17e?

SP Cycle R088 Owners?

Hey guys, I am a bit of a casual rider, I used to ride a lot back in high school, but now I am starting to get back into it after my 9-5.

The problem is that the bike's frame has been in a pretty bad state for a couple years now. So I just want something cheap to replace it, and that wont break on me.

I ride on the road, but as anyone from LATAM may understand, these paved roads can feel more like cobble stone. So I just want to make sure that the problem with the SP Cycle Frames is not that they break easily when you coast over a drain cage or pot hole or something.

I've got my eye on the R088 since the style is similar to my current frame's. And, since it's a 2025 I feel like I can trust the reviews, which are pretty good.

Any advice for a first time buyer?

Dell latitude 5430

Hey guys, the company I work in is having an internal sale of the used laptops it won't use anymore. They have a couple of options, mainly some Dell latitude 5400 series and a couple of Macs.

I want to get a 5430 to learn/use Linux on a different hardware than my brand new LOQ 15, and for about 200 USD this is pretty good hardware.

I also want to turn it into a jellyfin server/NAS. I've already tried out the server on my LOQ, but I am not leaving it plugged in and on 24/7. Mainly due to the battery, I've got solar panels so power consumption is not that big of a problem for me.

TL;DR: Are Dell Latitude 5400 series good hardware for Linux? Or is it going to have problems with drivers?

Honda City - Gastador o Ahorrador?

It's raining men

Do y'all think that, if PB gets the chance to show an iron rain on a movie or series, he would use the weather girl's song for background music? I think he might be the type and I find the idea very funny.

3 hours screen on time max, is it time to upgrade?

I've got a pixel 6a, today I tried using it without charging it (with extreme battery saver mode and minimal use) throughout the day to see if I really should consider changing it. I was disappointed to see that it barely got me through my work day after barely using it. I basically get around 3 hours of screen on time max before running dry.

I don't think I could keep a phone like that without being able to keep it plugged throughout the day in my desk job.

Now, I could probably manage this battery by carrying a small phone external battery, but there is another issue. My screen is starting to ignore my inputs every now and again. Today, just during my work shift, I got about 20 instances where I had to turn the screen off, wait a few seconds, and then turn it on again just to have my phone react to my finger.

And lastly, this phone only has 1 year left of software and security updates left, so investing in any more fixes seems no longer worth it.

Overall, I think this phone is no longer as reliable as it once was. And I think I'm at a point in my life where I need a more reliable device.

My current options are between:

Pixel 10a

Pixel 10 (base)

iPhone 17e

Samsung s25 edge

All at around the same price (except 10a which is cheaper), at 256 GB, and brand new from the retail store. I'm looking for something that'll stay reliable in the long-run.

Switching to pixel 9 pro xl renewed or a new 10a?

As the title says, I'm considering switching to either a pixel 9 pro xl from Amazon renewed or a brand new 10a. I'm coming from my 3yo order 6a. I could probably keep my phone for a while longer, but the screen is starting to freeze on me often. I had the screen replaced like a month ago and I think that's why it's failing on me.

Overall, my phone is starting to be a little bit more inconvenient for my day to day.

Looking for what to upgrade to I've found that Amazon has the best deals for me, and I'm keen on the pixel 10a (11k mxn brand new) and the 9 pro xl (12k MXN renewed).

These options are both 256gb and basically the same price.

Tldr - Should I go for used and premium, or new and mid tier?

Additional thoughts:

I feel pixels are great for longevity which is something I'm keen on, but I'm also getting into heavier emulation on android so I might need something more Pro.

I could also spend like 2k MXN more for the 10 pro xl renewed and get that g5.

The iPhone 16e is also a good option for something nice and cheaper at 10k MXN.

I mostly stick to pixels now because of: their awesome night sight camera mode, Gemini as a smart assistant, and android's ability to use APKs like gamenative.

Considering mini mighty wallet, any experiences?

I've been looking for a thin and nice wallet to keep about 9-13 cards and some cash (in a dedicated pocket) in my front pocket. For these reasons I am considering the mini mighty. I am also interested in the mini due to its cassette design option and the novelty of the tivek.

I'm coming from a cheap leather wallet with a trigger compartment, bill fold, and coin zipper that comes up to about 2.75 cm thick. This is due to the fact that that wallet alone is as thick as all my cards, if I want to get a smaller package I'd need a wallet that's as thin as possible.

After considering old posts and reviews my only worry is regarding the experience of pulling out single cards, which I assume shouldn't be too different from a normal card holder.

Does anyone have any recent experience with these kinds of wallets?

72% estimated capacity, end of life is next year, and yet I still love this phone.

I got it in 2023 for ~430 USD and haven't had any actual deep wishes to upgrade. However, I have 3 authentication apps, two of which I use every day for work, and 2 banking apps that I use for my paycheck/credit card/savings and for my taxes. So, I really shouldn't be using an unsupported phone.

At this point, for me, the only reason to upgrade is security, since I can easily manage to make the phone last through most days.

I truly don't wish to change from my nice little phone, but I think this will be a chance to try using a bigger phone for longer.

I'm currently thinking of straight up going for a 10 pro xl or an iPhone 17 pro max next year when support drops.

Is anyone else not really wishing to switch their 6a, but sadly seeing the writing in the wall?
