I picked up my Atto 2 Premium a few weeks ago. Other than the incident with angry man, everything has been fine.

Wednesday night I hop in the car and when I turn it on there’s a lot of orange on the dashboard and a message saying that ADAS is unavailable. I need to get home; ADAS is nice but not essential. The car keeps trying to reset ADAS and after about 10kms it’s happy again.

Now it used to do a bleep sound when it passed a new speed sign, and then three gentle tones if you went over the limit with the speed sign on the dashboard flashing. Since Wednesday night, it flashes but there’s no triple warning tone.

I’m stuffed if I can find an option in the settings to turn it on again. Messed around with heaps of them. I’ve looked online and viewed tens of videos with no joy. I’ve tried changing driving modes when driving and then back again. I’ve done an infotainment system reboot. I’ve checked and the software is up to date

I have not gone factory reset yet.

I’ve downloaded the manual and it makes no mention of audio, only the blinking sign on the dash.
I find that a bit weird. Maybe the car is not meant to do it… dunno.

So I’m coming to the collective wisdom here to see if anyone knows how to reinstate those three tones.

So this is a weird one.

Tonight I was parking in my 5 day old car when I was set upon by someone who was either having a mental health episode or on drugs.

My passengers and I were safe but not the car: he’s pulled the windscreen wiper and it’s massively mangled. There’s some minor duco damage to the bonnet where he scraped the arm of the blade along it. Everything else appears to be ok.

Inexperienced in navigating this stuff.

Comprehensively insured $1k excess. The constabulary were useless, so no idea who the perp is, hence I’ll need to pay the excess.

Questions for the folk here:

Where would I go to get a BYD wiper arm replaced — BYD or a third party?

I was going to go to a panel shop to see if they could touch it up — it’s not visible and I’m more worried about rust. Are the BYD paint colours readily available to third parties?

Given the car is leased, do I have the authority to do that anyway or do they have a right to insist it goes through insurance?

I’m keen to do it directly as I am sure the cost would be way less than $1k!

I’m a bit freaked out by this unprovoked attack but know I need to work through this logistical stuff as well — and soon.

Would really appreciate any thoughts or advice on this. Thank you.
