Not biggest NBA fan but our best players are there so it would be awesome to see them play in the qualifiers.

What is your overall opinion on Tim Cone as Gilas Coach?

I wanted to post this in r/PBA but it won’t let me because of my karma score.

To anyone out of the loop, the current Gilas program is facing a multitude of issues:

1. The team needs to win 6 straight games to qualify for the 2027 World Cup.

2. A number of key players are unavailable, especially bigs like QMB (6'10) and Mike Phillipps (6'8).

3. Our best homegrown player, Kai Sotto, is being a diva and refusing to play unless his insane wage demands are met.

4. Our naturalized player, Brownlee, is 38 and coming off an injury.

5. The Coach and his Staff are stubborn dinosaurs who refuse to consider other players and prefer the team to be Gilas Gin Kings.

Me, personally, I don’t have any confidence in the coaching staff and team management. Even if we qualify, it’s going to be 2019 World Cup all over again where our assess got handed to us—way worse than 2023.
