I took a chance on the Retroid Pocket 5, and it exceeded every single expectation.

Hi everyone,

I thought I'd regret buying a Retroid Pocket 5 (RP5) since I've used my phone with a Gamesir G8+ for game streaming; was thinking if my RP5 was going to be redundant.

It's been almost three weeks and I haven't put it down! I love that there are android ports for games like Balatro and Dredge. In fact, I never liked Dredge on my steam deck, yet for some reason I've been hooked (mind the pun) playing on the RP5!

Reminds me so much of my PS Vita since it was easily portable. Maybe I'm playing my RP5 more since it's so accessible?

While I have my steam deck and switch 2 that's been neglected for AAA gaming, the RP5 has helped me clear my indie game backlog.

Has anyone else bought an android gaming handheld that exceeded your expectations?

Loving my Retroid Pocket 5! Can anyone recommend a good slip case?

Recently bought a Retroid Pocket 5 because I managed to find it for $200 AUD and thought it was a good price.

I already have a Steam Deck and Switch 2, and while I love both of them, I really dig this handheld! Beautiful display and enough horsepower to run some of my favourite games.

I underestimated how pocketable it is, which is probably why I'm using it more. Reminds me of my PS Vita; small enough to carry around compared to my Steam Deck. Battery life is also phenomenal!

I've seen the front shield plates on Etsy and the standard carry case, although I'm looking for something that I can quickly slip in and out while travelling. I understand a slip case won't protect it from drops; just want to protect it from scratches.

Can anyone recommend a good suitable slip case?

To all the Steam Deck users considering a Switch 2...

Hi Everyone,

I have a Steam Deck OLED that I've used for over a year. I love it and will continue to use it, although was on the fence about buying a Switch 2 given the upcoming price hike this year.

There were a few things that led me to buy a Switch 2 and if you're in a similar situation and researching, here's why I purchased one:

Plug and Play Capability

Most games on the Steam Deck run smoothly, although there a few games that you need to tinker to get right. Sometimes I just want to load a game and not think about it.

Comfort

For long gaming sessions, the Steam Deck can start to feel heavy. I can bare it, although I just want to be comfortable since the Switch 2 is lighter in comparison.

Longevity

The Steam Deck is starting to show its age; the Switch 2 is expected to continue for another 6-7 years for both AAA titles and Nintendo exclusives that will be a worthwhile investment.

To all the Steam Deck owners, I recommend buying one! What do you think?

Is it worth the headache to use the Rayneo Air 3s with Switch 2?

Hi everyone,

After buying my Nintendo Switch 2, I'd love to use my Rayneo Air 3s and didn't realise the amount of work to get this setup properly.

Even if you manage to get it working, I understand that third parties have a headache keeping up with Nintendo's updates that can break the connection.

If you managed to setup your Rayneos with your Switch 2, what and how did you do it?

Marty's puffer vest

I watched BTTF 1 way back in the 90's as a kid. When I first saw Marty in his bright red/orange puffer vest (life preserver), I thought he looked... weird, like really weird!

I understand that was probably the director's intention to make Marty look out of place, so 1950's folks would also feel the same.

Fast forward now as an adult, I think it looks fantastic and iconic. Puffer vests are more common so now it doesn't look odd; but as a kid at the time with no fashion sense, Marty looked straight up funny to me.

Did anyone else feel the same watching this as a kid? Maybe I wasn't thinking fourth dimensionally 😉?
