Hey SB Reddit!

Sooo, I wanted to give you guys a little update on what’s been going on with my SolarBalls posts and what I have planned for the next couple of months!

Today I planned to have a deep dive released talking about SB’s Soundtracks but when I was rereading the script I noticed a couple of things wrong with it… Soo I’m gonna need to rewrite it from scratch.. andd yeah.. Had to pull it from production for now! Don’t worry it will still come out! Just not this week!

And with the SolarBalls Movie coming out November 14th, I figured now would be a good time to show you guys what I’m currently planning for October and November, because things are probably going to get a little crazy as we get closer to the movie. 😂

Sooo… regarding the ???’s Spotlights.. Well this is where I could use a little help from you guys!

If there’s a SolarBalls character you’d like to see me do a Spotlight on, Feel free to leave them in the comments! I might just pick one of your suggestions for one of the open dates. 👀 I’ve left an image on who’s left so you guys have plenty of characters to pick! Just be sure to pick a character from the “Still Open” Category! :)

Anyway, that’s pretty much the current plan! Things could obviously change as we get closer to the movie, but for now, this is what I’m aiming for.

Alrighty everyone.. I am pretty excited to show you this Character Spotlight as this one was pretty fun to write out ngl.. Sooo not really much to say but I promise that next week we’ll head back to the Solar System to cover another main planet!.. And that’s all your gonna get 👀

Anyways this week I’m gonna spotlight a rather recent character that’s pretty much most people’s favorite Rouge.. or well one of them! it’s OGLE! And yes he got lost during a recruitment mission and he ended up here 😂 So perfect chance to do a spotlight on him!

Anyways.. let’s begin!

ROUGE:

OGLE made his first debut in the episode “What are Rouge Planets Part 1” when he appears after noticing WISE talking to Planet X during an unknown recruitment mission, and he has quite a big mouth to the point where WISE has to tell him to stop running his mouth as he has the habit to spill information about anything and it’s established that OGLE has a tendency to get lost when on recruitment missions

It quickly becomes apparent that OGLE is one of the more friendlier Rouge’s as WISE, PSO, and especially SIMP are very determined to get Earth, and OGLE quite naively follows their orders without any questions asked, I say he’s the most friendly Rouge out there, as OTS is a bit complicated to fully say if she is/isn’t, Anyways After getting X back to the Rouge Kingdom OGLE proceeds to get his recruiters into the Kingdom, and then proceeds to explain one of the Rules in that “If anyone leaves they can’t rejoin”, OGLE would lay low for the next few episodes and wouldn’t do much of note

Next time we see OGLE is honestly quite funny in an animation error in Planet Revolution Part 2 where he’s briefly shown to have WHITE eyes instead of black in the last shot of when the Rouge’s are preparing to enter into the Solar System.. OGLE doesn’t really do much to help the Planets in Planet Revolution only thing I think he did was get the Sun weaker and weaker alongside the other minor Rouge’s introduced

OGLE’s screentime slowly returned again once the planets reach the Oort Cloud and he leads the Rockies back to their Kingdom, Which okay I know OGLE is kinda annoying Rockies but what exactly do you have against him? It doesn’t really make sense! Surprisingly OGLE finds the Kingdom without getting lost but comes to the realization that Earth was left behind per SIMP’s orders he tries to find him but ends up empty handed and is ordered to get the Planets twice which leads to them meeting OTS and then later getting ordered in Deep Space

OGLE was able to avoid the kinda bad writing the Arc faced in this period, and would be manipulated by Planet X into going to the Solar System to get Earth, which takes a bit of time due to him getting lost again.. But he is able to do so, But things don’t go quite according to plan as Earth agrees to leave but also wants to take the Sun, which then leads to a confrontation between the pair

OGLE is convinced the Sun and any Star for that matter would ya know be evil, based on what SIMP and many others have told him in the Kingdom and is ready for the Sun to well do whatever he wants, like throwing him to deep space, pulling him close and burning him alive, Etc but due to Sun and Earth’s earlier conversation Sun lets him go and OGLE realizing that all Stars aren’t all evil agrees to help the Sun get to SIMP’s Kingdom to talk to her once and for all

OGLE’s last major appearance as of me writing this, was the episode “Sun vs the Rouge’s” anddd all he really does in this episode is get the Sun to the Rouge’s Kingdom unknowingly starting the final battle between them, and his last scene was when he tried apologizing to SIMP about what happened but was shut down as the Rouge’s move onto a new base.. and that’s it for now!

Final Thoughts:

OGLE had a great run in the Rouge’s! While yeah He got sidelined a little bit, and his whole little arc about Believing Stars were all evil until he talked things out with a Redemption Sun is a little rushed, and not fully fleshed out, but Honestly everything else about him? I thought was handled pretty good!

OGLE is one of those characters you just can’t help but find amusing when he’s on screen, He’s funny!, He’s gullible and you can tell the Writers also enjoyed writing for him, a very PEAK character in the Rouge’s even though he needed sometime to get going I seriously do think and hope we see him again and he’ll remain the same fun loving dude he was in the Rouge Arc!

Oh frick where did he go? I need to return him to the Rouge’s otherwise I’m freaking cooked…🤔 Oh shit! He got lost in my files! NUUUUUUUUUUUU RIP Me 💀

Alrighty guys, time to introduce y’all to a Spotlight on a Character that only appeared in ONE major Arc.. So for these guys I’m gonna be covering them like usual go over what they did but obviously no massive segment changes, as with these guys they have appeared in One arc and then that’s it, Mentions in other Arc’s will not count ofc

So although Theia is the main character in her Arc (kinda) I’m gonna talk about her… controversial love interest Proto-Earth! Or Proto for short, He’s… well certainly interesting to talk about… not as much as Ganymede but he was interesting to research and rewatch the episodes he appeared in..

Sooo let’s begin!

THEIA:

Proto-Earth made his first debut in the Episode “Lost Earth Part 3” though we would hear his voice in “Jupiter is Back Part 2” in one of the only few positives that episode has.. (god help me when I talk about that episode this Sunday) After that we would hear him one more time in “What if Earth left the Solar System Part 1” before his proper introduction in Lost Earth, We don’t really get much from him other than him asking Earth if he wants to hear their story which doesn’t have a happy ending, Then we jump straight into the past!

Proto (who we are gonna call from this point on unless stated otherwise) officially appeared in the past in “First Planets Part 2” and immediately we will see his ego when he interrupts Theia after her introduction on screen, which will then began the complicated love he and she will have and to some extent Venus? But Proto and Venus never really interacted with one another, Other than one scene after Proto and Theia’s relationship began

Proto would befriend Mars shortly thereafter right before Venus told him to go apologize to Theia for hurting her feelings and then he would accompany her to the Sun and was right there the Sun told Theia the reasoning for wanting a planet to have life and hence Theia’s quest for life began! With Proto being very dismissive of the idea which came to ahead Once Theia figures out Proto has the capabilities for producing Life

Proto runs off to find Theia after hearing she went into the asteroid belt and then they meet Ceres who is slowly diving into insanity but hasn’t truly gone insane yet, pretty much explains about Entropy that everything eventually comes to an end, and seeing Theia so distraught and upset, Proto opens up to her (and we don’t get to hear his beautiful singing 😭) about why he’s skeptical and eventually agrees to her idea of getting life and hence they’re romance begins!

The rest of Proto’s appearances from this point on is basically… completely mixed, Now being too smitten with Theia and getting too.. excuse me… very hormonal with her if ya know what I mean, to even get an idea on what his thoughts are, about anything really, and around this time him and Mars’s friendship kinda drifted.. However next major point was when the Sun figures out abt he and Theia’s love for one another separates them in order to keep them safe, But after Venus throws Theia to Proto, Proto makes a promise to Mars that they’ll play asteroid dodgeball again.. Well that never came to be, as we all know what happens next.. The infamous Crash

Proto’s last few appearances was him haunting Venus in After The Crash Part 1, and then when we get back to present day Earth basically trying to explain to him about Life and why they did what they did, and.. okay can I mention Proto and Theia aren’t the best “Parent” figures as they died so someone else can fulfill their wishes? Like wth?… Okay Anyways.. Proto’s final appearance was in the episode “The Earth Awakens” and basically all he does in that episode was tell Earth to say hi to everyone and the Moon and.. that’s it!

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Proto-Earth is.. honestly pretty hard to understand, and what I mean is his goals and objectives aren’t fully defined, As he started off rather arragont like Pre Redemption Earth, he just doesn’t have the dialogue just the arrogance which is pretty cool!, But he was incredibly pretty rude and then completely devoted with Theia which would lead to his death… And the show kinda makes him out to be a good “Parent” figure when in reality that’s not really true.. based on his actions and overall decisions both in terms of the Past and when he’s talking to Earth

But Proto-Earth isn’t a bad character, He had a fun run in SolarBalls, Had a pretty good love Story, and overall he had a good little mini arc in this, Him not wanting life to eventually embracing it, Which I can definitely say is better than Theia who flip flopped on her position for Life (seriously you’ll see what I mean when I talk about her eventually)

And yes he still wants that McDonald’s! That hasn’t changed! Although 🤔.. I wonder how he pays for it?

Alrighty guys.. enough of spotlighting some NPC Characters… let’s focus on a pretty prominent character this time So.. one last thing I need to mention not everyone appeared in the Educational Period, so I’m just gonna skip that period, and for characters who only appeared in one arc/era I’ll only showcase them in that Arc which will be longer sections soo.. you’ll see what I mean for next week!

Anyways.. today I’m covering Ganymede!… Oh boy he’s sure had a road alright, and a very.. interesting one to say the least… alright let’s begin!

MOON REVLOUTION:

Ganymede’s first debut was in the episode “The Moons of Jupiter Part 1” and.. boy will he make an impact REALLY quickly after his introduction after making fun of Saturn and his Moons, and then going off to find Titan, which after he hears what the Earth did and said to Titan, he decides to have a Revolution to teach the Planets a lesson for not respecting the moons as much

Ganymede was the main driving force for the Moon Revolution alongside Europa though he’s easily the less of two evils as it was shown he had some regrets into what they were doing, But still they went along with it which I thought his villainess was pretty good! Making sure everyone stays committed to this plan even after Earth and Titan apologized for how things went between them, which then led to an awesome showdown between him and Titan which after the stupid scene from Pluto, gets him to stop and when the Revolution was over it seemed like he was gonna be up to no good again.. and that wasn’t explained further.. (seriously you’ll see what I mean in a bit)

PLANET X:

Oh dear.. this is where Ganymede’s controversial redemption began which that deserves its own post at some point…. Okay.. I mean we do kinda start to get more stuff from him like his reasoning for MR kinda, was because he looks up to Jupiter and wants to lead his own brigade, But anyways soo.. after the Moons pretty much exiled him and then forced Titan to join them in their club Ganymede comes up with a plan to make the Planets respect them by asking the Sun.. and that went as well as expected.. with him and Europa getting kicked out of the Solar System with Sun finding about Moon Revolution, Will say Ganymede did make a solid prediction abt the Planet Revolution

Ganymede will then later find Planet X and make him return, and then would go back to find Jupiter to try and get him to return, which ultimately fails and then he and the Moons would go into a competition with X Will say though as much as X is awfully written in the last episodes of his arc, I’m sure some SB fans were happy to see Ganymede get his ass kicked by him, I mean that’s the closest thing we’ve had to him or Europa getting karma for their actions in MR

THEIA:

Ganymede didn’t really do too much in this arc but he still got a couple of screen time moments and he wasn’t totally out of character Like the writers continued on his botched X arc redemption, But I think he was handled pretty good here! Such as getting Metis to explore the inner Solar System to find the others and being one of the few moons to say to Titania “Hey, let’s wait before we take action” as yes that’s the best thing to do after your last few attempts to take action ended up in disaster

The last few things he would do in this Arc is after Metis fails to return, he would join Titania and the rest into going to the Sun to proclaim their independence which wasn’t shown on screen.. well they were shown going to the Sun but not shown getting their “new” orbits

ROUGE:

Unlike Mars and Eris, Ganymede does actually quite a lot in the Rouge’s well mostly in the beginning/middle, helping the Moon with convincing Titania to get the planets back in order and actually would take a massive leap in helping the Planets in their own Revolution against the Sun, even though he was against it at first, he did agree to go along with it which yeah it does make sense why the Planets chose him to train them

After the Revolution he.. kinda disappears for the rest of the arc, although he did put most of the blame on how they ended up in deep space on.. the DWARFS.. What? Shouldn’t you get mad at Triton as it was technically his fault for bringing The Rouge’s into that mess, I guess in someway yeah the Inner Dwarfs didn’t fully understand but the Outer Dwarfs yeah no they TRIED to warn you guys

CHRYSALIS:

Despite some characters being horribly written Ganymede has stayed mostly the same and actually in this arc he has gotten some form of Screentime, calling out Titan and Saturn’s Moons for running away from trying to figure out Chrysalis and their backstory and actually would kinda help Triton and Titania when they thought Ceres was the moon killer

As of SOCP2 though, Ganymede hasn’t gotten too much screentime he was prevalent kinda in the videos but he’s kinda sidelined here which isn’t too bad honestly, He has gotten enough screentime in this Arc so I think him being sidelined now is just fine Although it does kinda give him a bad look when Tethys revealed Titan was an accomplice for Chrysalis’s Death and he was about to do it again to Earth cause of his and Europa’s actions.. if that makes sense

Final Thoughts:

Sooo.. Ganymede is a very complex character, and he’s had the most interesting run SolarBalls has seen.. and up to this point in my Spotlight Series, Starting off as a villain which that was cool!, But then got a really bad redemption arc, andd it’s like the other characters well most of them have forgotten that he almost single handily tried to get Earth or themselves killed Even WHEN he was banished with Europa it didn’t really amount to anything as basically he was allowed back in like that after he returned X to the Solar System

It’s real easy to not be a massive fan of this guy and why there’s likely so few, as he has done so much wrong… and has gotten little development, but I will say from rewatching every Arc he’s in I noticed something… He has somewhat gotten better as time has gone on.. I mean he’s not great mind you but I feel like there’s more to this guy than meets the eye, He has had solid moments more than Europa for sure, and if anything? You can tell the Writing Team enjoys writing him like no wonder how he keeps making appearances in these Arc’s

Last thing I will say.. if you’re looking to lead a revolution or something Ganymede’s your best bet! He’ll train you and your friendo’s! If you can overlook his horrific past actions 💀

Alright enough of this note time for the deep dive!)

THE AD DEBATE:
Awww Pateron… the website that people can go and support creators and in return get rewarded with early access to content that the general public can’t see unless they join.. and SolarBalls is not an exception to this, and like everyone who has Patreon they wanna promote it, in their content which is understandable you want to convince new fans and maybe old fans to join ya!

However SB has found itself in a bit of hot water as they’re way of method to get people to join is basically pause the video with an ad segment and then get back in the video and.. people are not big fans of these Ads.. which will get discussed soon.. Anyways other people have made posts about their complaints anddd I want to go deeper into the issue and propose an idea on how to fix it

History:

SolarBalls created their Patreon Account in April 2023 almost a year after the show entered production now they first mentioned their Patreon in “Mission to Titan Part 1” but wouldn’t start doing the segments until “The Moons of Juipiter Part 1” now for the rest of Moon Revolution the narrator would do the segments until “The Journey to Neptune” or nowadays “Is Triton leaving Neptune” when Earth and Venus would take over the segment, which would last until the final past planet video “How the Moon & Earth Formed” when the modern day segments began, where a character would sit in a chair and mention their Patreon and other stuff

Here’s the characters and they’re first time doing this new segment
Mercury: The Earth’s Core Part 1

Venus: How the Moon & Earth Formed

Earth: What if the Moons become Planets Part 2

Mars: The Earth’s Core Part 2

Juipter: The Planets Awaken (Main Show: What if All Planets Shared One Orbit Part 1

Pluto: The Solar Reckoning Part 2

And I’ve counted each one
Mercury: 9 Episodes
Venus: 9 Episodes
Earth: 7 Episodes
Mars: 3 Episodes
Jupiter: 6 Episodes
Pluto: 3 Episodes

The Problem:

The last few months have seen repeated criticism of the Ad Segment.. for a number of reasons but to keep things short

These segments feel like filler put in an episode to fill out the run time and it can actually mess up the pace of an episode Like sometimes we are really into an intense scene then next moment.. an Ad! It kinda drops the quality of an episode.. and it can actually turn some people off from continuing the rest of the episode

These ads are also very repetitive, I mean they are pretty cool don’t get me wrong but it’s the same few characters doing the same exact thing… It’s frankly kinda boring! I know something similar happened with the old Ad but the thing is, These are the Characters doing the Segment not the Narrator, So they should have more freedom and creativity to do something with them! Like how much substance can you get from Venus claiming he doesn’t care about the segment or Mercury still needing his 2 minutes?

Not every character as gotten a chance to appear in an Ad as Saturn, Uranus, Neptune are the last major ones who are needing an Ad segment and technically the Sun? But I think it’s understandable why he may/may not ever get one I mean he’ll burn down the whole studio with his heat and solar flares 😂 but like I’ve said it’s like the team is following the Educational Era format Rockies First, then add Jupiter and Pluto then gradually add the rest of the characters but it’s been about a YEAR since these segments began andddd nothing really new has appeared in the last few months

How I would fix it:

Sooo how would I try to fix the issue?

First, We get the rest of the Solar System a turn at doing the segment as of September 5th 2026 or 05/09/26, we know Saturn, Uranus and Neptune still haven’t gotten a chance to do the ad segment, So first thing I recommend is create ad segments for them! Then maybe try to create new ones for other characters like Planet X, Some of the Moons, ETC Basically create a big enough cast to where the ad segment is a little more interesting to watch

Second, Make the current ads more interesting, What I mean the current ones are fine but they’ve been done to death, So here’s the idea, the team maybe like as a side project, Animate a second ad segment like you can keep the same jokes like Jupiter’s segment for example but change the animation around just so it’s more interesting and probably more funny to watch, Sure it’s an ad segment but it won’t be treated as filler

Third, If we have to keep the same ad’s here’s a simple solution, Put the characters on a rotation.. so what I mean by this idea is basically one week Mercury does the Ad then the following week it’s Venus, then Earth, then Mars, and so on basically don’t have the same few characters doing the segment for multiple weeks in a row, as pretty much fans are gonna get tired of it like for example, Mercury and Venus have done the ad so many times it puts the others at a big disadvantage

Final Thoughts:

I personally don’t have a massive issue with the Patreon ads but I can acknowledge this is a recurring issue, The ads are very repetitive and they kinda screw up the pace of an episode, which then can actually hinder a solid episode from being 10/10 and this has indeed happened a few times

I do believe SB needs to take a breather with the Ads maybe like every 2 video posts or something, they can put the Patreon Ad still in videos but not be in EVERY video..and figure out which videos require the Ad, and which ones don’t

It’s understandable they want to get people onto their Patreon but they kinda need to know and understand that begging for people to join it? Is not gonna work also not to mention there are some people who do want to support them on Patreon but don’t have the $ for it sooo.. yeah

Well.. you guys really seemed to like Mars’s Spotlight! Nice to see I can continue with this series! Okay… So I’m gonna be flip flopping between characters to keep things interesting, and I’m only doing one a week cause that’s all the time I have for, and I promise next week will be more of a major character, not nothing burger characters lol

Soo today I’m gonna cover Eris!… ummm.. yeah… she’s probably more of a nothing burger than Mars but I was able to find some stuff for her! Soo hopefully things will be a-okay!

EDUCATIONAL:

Eris made her first debut in the episode “WHO’S THAT PLANET?” And that’s her ONLY major Spotlight role in the Educational Period, all she pretty much does is explain to Saturn and Uranus where Neptune had gone and that she’s not happy with asteroids having faces before she then leaves refusing to help them look for Neptune

And.. that’s really it for her in this period! Yeah.. safe to say there’s some unexplained beef with the planets, But we did get some indication into what she will evolve into the next Arc

MOON REVOLUTION:

This is where Eris got the most amount of screen time, and she actually did quite a lot in her short time in this period, Calling out Pluto for lying about his Dwarf Status and for being the 9th Planet and for making Makemake’s game Dungeons and Dwarfs about himself when they are supposed to be working together and not a free for all, While it’s kinda rude when looking back, It does give Pluto a brutal reality check, and which pretty lays the ground work for Pluto’s own mini character arc come the following episode

But she’s not entirely rude as she was earlier as after Pluto goes through his development and apologizes for the way he acted, she does let him back in rather reltuncly, but it seems like in the videos since, they did make up even though it wasn’t shown on screen, and that’s okay!

PLANET X:

Okay.. this is where Eris began… disappearing.. Both in terms of screen time and character development, she does appear with the Dwarfs as Ceres and Triton would join them in their game and indirectly sent Triton through his own character arc, and then later would appear as Ganymede and Europa appeared after they got kicked out of the Solar System but in both instances she does really nothing

Anddd ngl that’s really it, she just appeared and disappeared within a few seconds which I guess it’s good she wasn’t around for much longer as it was shortly after the Dwarfs made their second appearance on screen, The writing took a massive decline

THEIA:

Despite the horrific writing some of the main characters got, The Dwarfs and Eris remained consistent through the Theia Arc in terms of how the characters acted, But Eris wouldn’t get much more screen-time as it’s pretty much the same as Planet X she appears and disappears.. But she did get a little more something this time around

She would join Makemake, Haumea and Metis to go find Jupiter and was shown to be excited to finally go on an adventure for seemingly as far as we know the first time, to get Jupiter back to Earth and well that’s kinda it for her.. after they do that.. again you guys are seeing a pattern here like with Mars

ROUGE:

After she got a bit more time in The Theia Arc, Eris resumed her role as being a background character in the Rouge’s and like Mars she doesn’t really do much of note here, other than ignore Sedna’s warning about the Rouge’s getting involved

Then she just joined the rest of the Dwarfs in getting the Rouge’s, getting dumped in deep space and then finding their way back.. man Rouge Arc I like ya but what are you doing in terms of not letting our characters get spotlights?

CHRYSALIS:

As of now.. Eris hasn’t appeared at all in Chrysalis and that goes for most of the Dwarfs other than Sedna, Which is a little weird that Eris and the Dwarfs weren’t shown reentering the Solar System as the Sun and Planets did but.. it’s not a huge deal

Like I’ve said with Mars it’s kinda good that she’s not highlighted here as the writing once again decreased to horrific levels I mean I’m not sure what would happen if she did appear, but seeing how Sedna is handled here.. yeah I’m gonna assume she would’ve gotten the same treatment of sorts

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Eris… is honestly complicated to fully rank and understand as she hasn’t done really much of anything in these Era’s, she’s just there as like a big background character and joins the Dwarfs in going for the ride where ever they go off to

That being said.. She’s been pretty consistent throughout the show in terms of overall character like Mars, and despite her lack of screentime in the last few Era’s I’m glad we got her during the beginning of the show, as it really helped her stand out from the other females, who were just being introduced for the first time

And hey! Another positive she’s not forced in a romance with anyone as far as I know, which I can’t say the same for many other SB Female’s… oh boy those are gonna be really I nteresting to eventually talk about!

So, I was gonna talk about this at some point during my Analysis on every Era.. but upon further research, turns out.. there was A TON of Information that I just couldn’t fit without my analysis being way too long… So here it is!

SolarBalls has a big leaking problem, It’s been going on for some time now, and I thought it would be fun to discuss this in more detail! As I feel this topic isn’t covered as much as it’s used too! Sure there’s posts warning about it, but not a full detailed post Sooo.. I wanna change that!

So let’s begin!

WHAT IS A LEAKER?:

First things first for a brief explanation, What exactly is a Leaker?, Basically a leaker is someone who has access to information not seen by the public, and then shares it before its intended release

Let’s use an example so let’s say Crash of Proto and Theia is on YouTube and just been released and After the Crash Part 1 is on Pateron, Well someone will get the After the Crash video in its entirety through third party websites, or will get Pateron themselves and download it and post it to TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, The Wiki basically anywhere in hopes that people will watch it and likely talk about it with other fans

WHY ITS A PROBLEM

So with people leaking content that hasn’t been released yet.. I guess you can see where exactly the problem is SolarBalls has made it EXTREMELY clear to the audience they don’t want their new videos leaked online for a number of reasons.. but to summarize the main reasons…

The original fully released videos can simply not do well, cause everyone watched the leak and know everything that video has, Why wait for the next episode when there’s a leaker right there pointing the video at your face? They want to make you watch it and spread the leak, The Team has spent weeks/months writing, animating the video and they put all their effort into it (mostly) so seeing people take them for granted is discouraging

30 SECOND PREVIEWS:

Okay.. let’s clarify something The 30 second previews ARE NOT LEAKS! Anyone can go on SB’s Patreon and watch it, on their own free will! And SB doesn’t really care that much if you upload that to YT as stated before anyone can go see it themselves

However what IS a leak is if you upload a 30 second preview from let’s say the 1 minute mark to 1:30 seconds THATS considered a leak as nobody can access it through Patreon if you didn’t sign up!

HISTORY:

The Leakers first appeared in the Moon Revolution in late 2023, now the information back then is a little hazy, But according to a video by The Unlucky Planet which came out in 2024, Moon Revolution Parts 3 and 4 were leaked so much causing the Team to delay releasing Part 4, and this can be also said “How to Terraform Mars” as people have also told me those episodes were leaked to death as they were on hold PRIOR to MR Beginning

The Leakers remained mostly quiet through X’s Arc, only to remerge in Theia’s during the first real bad writing period and this was when things got really bad, as nearly every video from that arc, got leaked onto YouTube and TikTok, which also didn’t help that the team was in its real bad writing era. yeah SB had a very bad 2025 based on writing and leaking

The Leakers remained mostly kinda there through the end of Theia and heading into the Rouge Arc but were just minor until.. okay somehow someway some of them teamed up and took down “Our Planets Go Rouge Part 2” (I seriously wish I was kidding) which then caused the Finale to be delayed for a week.. or well part of the reason why it came out a week later, After that.. they remained quiet through Chrysalis’s beginning (which I can’t personally blame them for knowing the videos were bad) but they seemed to have reemerged as Chrysalis’s backstory has fully begun!

WHY DO THEY LEAK?:

Okay the big question is why do Leakers like leaking stuff well.. for several reasons but the most common answer for SB’s case.. well I narrowed it down to 3 Reasons

Clout: People want to get Famous nowadays, and why not get famous easily by leaking popular Shows and or things in a community, Your surely gonna be recognized! Even if it’s negative you’re still getting recognized for leaking content!

Impatience: Because SolarBalls uploads once a week for new episodes, People tend to get impatient and want to see the next episode early, Leakers know this and they purposely get the video to share it to those who want to see next episode early and then that creates more problems

Just Because: This one is kinda similar to Clout, but it’s a little different, these type of Leakers are typically not Fans of SB but know the show is popular, and have decided to leak episodes well… just because they don’t have an official reason they just want to spoil stuff

TIKTOK:

Sooo this one almost got talked about in my Other SB Community post, but I’ve left them off.. anyways TikTok has became the breeding ground of sorts for leakers, as basically if you are in the SB Community in there, It’s a likely chance your gonna come across an account that has the next episode in its entirety

And it doesn’t take long for them to appear as there’s been cases where the next episode could be uploaded within HOURS to MINUTES of the next episode showing up on Patreon which releases 30 minutes before the next main episode

FAN REACTION:

So… the usual answer from most Fans of shows is that they don’t support leaking content… for a variety of Reasons, But with SB’s leaking fan reaction… it’s kinda complicated.. as it is mostly based on the platform your using

Reddit and Discord as much as they can’t get along, are mostly fully against Leaking, I say mostly because there is a few people that will leak but it’s mostly minor, Patreon I’m assuming is against it as well! YouTube and TikTok on the other hand.. seem to like the leaks and are rather more supportive of them I’m assuming they also know how wrong it is.. but it’s quite difficult to fully say As leaked videos do get taken down rather quickly after detection

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Think it’s safe to say I and a ton of Fans despise people who leak anything, as it just ruins the fun for everyone, and makes the thing we’re watching more or less not interesting.. which then can cause the show to dip in a variety of areas Now there have been measures to crack down Leakers popping up and even though it’s taken some time Leakers aren’t popping up as much as they were originally, there was a moment when we were avoiding them like the Plauge

But every now and again we’ll have a Leaker pop up somewhere, and it’s just something us as the fandom has to deal with unfortunately, We can’t fully get rid of them as more and more will continue to pop up,

All I can say for this problem is, If you ever do come across a leak, please report it to SB, and report the video so the sites can take them down, and MOST importantly don’t show the Leakers any support, as things will only get worse if we keep giving them attention

And that seems to be it Friendo’s!

Hey guys! Soo.. I’m starting a little side series, so after covering each major Era, and rewatching all them videos, I thought it’d be fun to cover each character.. and shed some light on them! This won’t be like a full Character Anyalsis, as I’m not that experienced with that 😅 but I can give you guys the highlights on what they did during the Era’s soo consider these like mini anyalsis (if you do want to see full Character Anyalsis posts be sure to check out u/Lucky_Lucas542’s posts!)

So.. first character I’m covering is…. Mars! Our favorite.. well NPC!! Yeah.. be prepared to see a lot of what I mean! Anyways.. let’s begin!

EDUCATIONAL:

Mars made his first debut in the episode “What if the Sun disappeared” and he would appear in most of the educational videos.. However He doesn’t really do much other than appear, give a fact and that’s pretty much it, other than that he’s shown playing Cards with Earth establishing he and Earth are best friends

He did get some standalone moments but they’re overshadowed by other characters such as his standalone episodes “How we Terraform Mars” and he didn’t really do anything other than just stand there as he’s being terraformed.. and this is mostly an ASTRODUDE arc type of episodes.. Yeah his NPC personality got its debut here

MOON REVOLUTION:

Mars did play a small role here in the Moon Revolution but it wasn’t big enough to be noteworthy or anything, Soo Mars became one of, If not the first person to abandon Earth after he said his rather infamous comment about Moons, which would be solidified after he and Venus would have a competition as Earth made it to be “Who’s the Earth’s Best Friend?” Which then leads to a major falling out between our friendo’s

After that, he did have a bit of development proving that yeah he doesn’t like the Earth at the moment, He will not go fully against him, when he refused to join the Moons in their kinda stupid Revolution and will say he did put up a good fight to defend the Earth only to loose, then that’s pretty much it for him in this arc

PLANET X:

Mars didn’t really do much in this arc and to be fair it does kinda make sense, as the show was focusing more on the Gas Giants who up to this point, did very little, but he was able to get a few moments here, like starting to get the Rockies working together again, and apologizing and making up to the Earth

And he did play somewhat of an important role later by trying to figure out Jupiter’s secret but it didn’t really go anywhere.. and then he was just kinda there for the rest of the Arc, avoiding the first real signs of bad writing.. which is good! But you guys are seeing a pattern here right? Mars shows up and does almost nothing of note

THEIA:

Oh boy… well that didn’t last long!.. Safe to say Mars had a VERY shaky Theia Arc run, being one of the main characters to be assassinated.. when he lashed out at Earth, Now in his defense Earth was trying to get him to do something he wasn’t 100% comfortable with.. but still he shouldn’t have lashed out at someone who’s mentally distressed and abandon them.. again!

Fortunately he did seem to recognize how wrong that was, and went back rather quickly to his early self, and would actually go look for Earth alongside Saturn, Moon, and AstroDude, and he played a KINDA major role in the past planet video’s though what he really did here was like how he is now, be Proto’s friend and well led him to crash into Theia and yeah he would apologize to Earth after he woke up in the Kuiper Belt

ROUGE:

Okay Mars did VERY little in this one! I’m not gonna lie, probably his most nothing note happens as he doesn’t get a lot of screentime I mean only things he really did was apologize for abandoning Earth during MR and Theia, then basically bring up to SIMP “Earth stayed behind cause he can’t sustain life if he leaves”

Then after that he basically admittedly went pretty stupid like most of the characters here when the Planets joined the Rouge’s and he actually contributed into the idea of OTS being a second Sun.. and that was pretty much it for him!

CHRYSALIS:

Soo.. as of me writing this, Chrysalis is still underway, but pretty much how this is going, it’s very similar to the X and Theia arc’s Mars is there and does some small things but doesn’t really contribute to the main plot though again like with X that’s pretty good all things considered when we’re talking about writing

As of TMKP3 the only notable thing he does here is go with Uranus to the Asteroid Belt to get the Moons, and discovers the torn page from the diary which says “MORE THAN ONE IS GUILTY” and then he would tell the Rockies and the Sun andddd.. that’s it for now!

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Soo.. okay I don’t blame anyone who thinks Mars is an NPC, He hasn’t gotten much of ANYTHING in these videos, As he basically shows up and does very little to contribute to the main plot, it’s like the writing team defaulted him as being “Earth’s friend” and that was it, Nobody has a clue on what to do with him

But even though he’s sidelined most of the time, he’s been one of the better consistent characters, He’s had a mostly solid run! Yeah his Theia run was pretty bad, but comparing him to some other characters I will cover eventually?.. His wasn’t insanely awful

And thank goodness for lots of Fan Edits and Content, soo even while the main show barely acknowledges him, I’m glad the fandom can do him some justice!

Alright.. I’m excited to write this deep dive!

So in my Rouge Analysis post I said that the Planet Revolution was definitely one of the arc’s best moments! And honestly? I struggled to put that into one section as there was SO much to talk about it!.. So why not give that its own little analysis? And discuss why to a lot of people myself included consider this as one of SB’s best written mini arc’s!

For those of you who thought the Moon Revolution was.. pretty mid especially after the ending, I HIGHLY recommend you give these videos a shot! As they’re a much better version of a Revolution done right!

BUILDUP:

Sooo.. how did we get to the Planets deciding to have a Revolution?

Well technically it was a gradual build up of one singular thing, Sun’s increasing mental insanity, Which was hinted when Ganymede told him about a Planet Revolution in the Solar System Trials.. Anyways The Sun went beyond the point of Reason after the Planets disappeared without explaining why in the Theia Arc, and made their Moons planets which didn’t last long after Uranus and Titania talked things out, Well afterwards Sun placed everyone in realistic orbits, which.. yeah didn’t go that well (though it did leave some pretty funny shots!) Anyways Sun did attempt to explain himself to Mercury only to loose his mind when the Planets broke free due to AstroDude being the communicator and formulating a plan

Which then led to Sun to place everyone in Earth’s orbit so he can keep a close eye on them.. this decision led to some drastic consequences with The Rockies risking of crashing into Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus’s rings melting away and Neptune growing ill so much to the point where Triton decided to step in and tell the Sun finally “hey I’m no Planet or Moon I’m a Dwarf Planet” before heading to the Dwarfs asking for help which then leads to them asking the Rouge’s for help

REVOLUTION:

Alright Revolution time!

PART 1:

This episode layed out the groundwork for the Revolution, first The Sun deciding to leave it up to a roulette wheel.. and we got some more funny experiments with Moons orbiting Planets and ironically square system (which is impossible but a funny idea) before the wheel landed on everyone being outside of the Asteroid Belt around Jupiter’s orbit

The Planets understanding realizing they need to work together and unite decide to do something quite important and that’s apologizing for past events that have been shown on screen, And my goodness the callbacks are GREAT! such as Jupiter for X’s banishment and lying about it, Saturn showing favoritism to Titan and neglecting his other moons, Uranus not recognizing Neptune as his cousin, Earth for his early MR self, Mars for neglecting Earth and despite how it was forced in Mercury and the stunt comment which was a big delight to see!

PART 2:

So Part 1 ended with the Planets asking Ganymede and Europa to help them with their plan, and despite them being understandably against it at first they eventually went all in.. Now say what you will about Ganymede and Europa’s forced redemption.. but you can’t deny they have changed since MR, and in some aspects it makes sense! They have had the most experience leading a Revolution so yeah no wonder why the Planets asked them then say.. Jupiter for example!

Rest of the episode was mostly training for the Revolution, but in the last few scenes, Mercury not wanting to see his closest neighbor attacked, decides to try one last time for peace, and the Sun while it seems to be slowly understanding, doesn’t seem to fully listen to what Mercury is saying leading Mercury to give up and go back to the planets basically saying “yup, we gotta do this” and then lastly it shows the Rouge’s preparing to invade!

PART 3:

So after Mercury comes back the Planets are ready for a revolution, Titan gives a final speech before they begin that if they go through with this, things are gonna be.. unforgivably different, but the Planets are 100% convinced this is the only way to get the Sun to listen to them, and thus lastly everyone is mostly on board!

Planet Revolution has fully begun! So the Planets’s Plan is to go around the Sun really fast with Earth as the shield, cause Sun wouldn’t dare to shoot a solar flare at him cause of his Earthlings, and the Moons decide to help by throwing asteroids at him, and the ideas.. ACTUALLY WORKED! Sun being thrown off balance and sent into a final insanity spinning in the opposite direction, just as the Rouge’s arrive to help by adding more gravity to the Solar System

PART 4:

Most of this episode featured mostly talking scenes between several characters as while the Sun is still spinning around, but we got some cool interactions with Uranus, X, Neptune, and the Dwarfs and Moons but main thing to notice here was that Despite SIMP wanting to destroy Sun, Mercury and Jupiter were able to convince them to not do so, and together they all make the Sun very very weak

And as everyone begins leaving we get some final epic scenes with Jupiter, the first planet of the Solar System basically telling the Sun now he didn’t exactly say this but went along the lines of “We are done playing by your rules and we are leaving” which then leaves Earth, Moon and Ceres alone with the Sun as his true fear finally comes to reality

AFTERMATH:

Okay.. the aftermath is well kinda badly written ngl, but that’s based on other factors such as other characters going insanely stupid but let’s talk about Earth, Moon, Sun and AstroDude, So after the Revolution happens Moon decides to try again with talking, but Earth is understandably not ready, so Moon asks AstroDude to go try and talk to him, and after almost falling into the Sun, AstroDude is able to get the opening parts of communication listening to Sun and Earth’s side of the story and maintaining peace

AstroDude essentially opened the door for COMMUNICATION as after he goes unconscious due to heat, Sun finally agrees to listen to what Earth has to say, and.. eventually they start getting along again! And then well it’s not shown on screen, it would lead to Sun getting the strength to get the rest of his planets back! And we all know how those episodes turned out Truly a redemption done right! (Not like G&E)

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Alright, Yeah.. no denying evidence Planet Revolution was definitely a great mini arc, and definitely where the Rouge’s reached their peak!

If I did have to name any negatives here it’s that OTS didn’t really participate despite being in that earlier shot, and the Planets were kinda stupid to follow the Rouge’s despite knowing them for.. 5 minutes which basically would lay the seeds for the rest of the Rouge arc as we saw multiple characters going insanely stupid

As much as I’m a big Sun defender (and the one who made a stupid post defending him about this when this first aired which I now kinda regret lol) I will acknowledge now, that this Revolution NEEDED to happen, As every other form of peace practically failed and Sun had to face his true dark fear in order to get him to understand, So sure while the Planets are equally to blame for the Revolution, Sun really needed a big wake up call

Overall Rating: 10/10!!

Definitely a solid Arc and a great batch of episodes! This was a Revolution Arc done right! :)

Sooo I never do Reviews, I mostly cover good and bad moments from the show but Holy smokes… I need to say something here!

This episode this was a great cooldown ish type!

Definitely my favorite part of the whole song, was Neptune ACTING LIKE THE TRUE VERSION OF NEPTUNE WE ALL KNOW AND LOVE and I liked seeing Halley’s Comet actually in a video and the lyrics and everything? Was AMAZING!!!

I know Reddit is really negative when it comes to well everything! but cmon guys! Give this video a shot! It’s a nice rare moment of the show just having fun! Like Educational vibes!

Anyways.. hope you guys are ready for tomorrow’s deep dive! As I’m covering a great set of episodes! 👀

So in my Theia arc analysis post, I briefly touched on the whole Theia love triangle, mainly because there were other points I wanted to discuss.. and that whole thing is difficult to write without getting insanely controversial… As everyone on the Reddit has their own opinion on it!

However upon researching and rewatching the videos for that post! I’ve came across several posts, and discussions mainly talking about how.. badly written this triangle was.. and just how frankly terrible it is!.. So I’m gonna cover it and offer my thoughts! Yeah.. not sure if this will do good, but eh! After making a controversial post this past week may as well stay on that train for another post! (Don’t worry my next deep dive is not as controversial! It’s actually gonna be pretty good!)

Anyways… Let’s begin!

THEIA:

Okay.. Theia.. has a ton of issues that I would be here all day listing them.. But to prevent me from turning this into a 2 hour documentary, I’ll say this… Theia feels kinda underdeveloped in some area’s Within 15 minutes of the Past Planet videos beginning she’s already forced in a love triangle which is a common thing with most Female SB Characters being forced in relationships apparently, but she? Probably got it the worst…. at least with other SB Female’s there was a bit of time and development? And overall they had more character going for them.. Theia on the other hand? It’s basically “I want life” and then bam we’re in a triangle, No time no development just we’re so on 100% Romance and that’s mostly her character here..

But without a doubt her biggest criticism is that she has… questionable moments with both Venus and Proto.. Let’s start with Venus, Theia pretty much dismissed his concerns about her safety, shutting him down on multiple occasions, and even when she did listen to him.. She seems annoyed with him like “okay, are you done?” I know Venus is a.. obsessed person in here, but Theia’s not entirely off the hook either and then we got her interactions with Proto which are also are up in the air, as it seemed like she.. at times forced him to go along with her plan to create life and never really acknowledging what he thinks of all this!.. + she is very inconsistent, one moment she hates Proto’s guts, next moment? She wants to… well kiss him! It’s kinda unpredictable how she’s gonna feel with each episode

VENUS:

Okay.. Venus had some severe issues in the triangle as well! While he started off okayish?… being one of Theia’s first supporters for the life thing, however eventually… over time? He started to get… obsessed with Theia like toxically obsessed with her, A clear example on what I’m talking about is after Proto and Theia leave the Asteroid Belt after they become friends… Venus quite rudely approaches them and tries to pull Theia away… and basically try to fight Proto?… Yeah that’s an insanely bad look on his part!

Venus also seems like a total wimp at points, and overall very insecure, letting people walk all over him and his personality?.. well holy damn… Venus seems so different! Being totally DEPENDENT on Theia, constantly wanting her approval on things… and wanting to make sure she’s happy, leading to some instances he does technically does hurt her feelings.. and doesn’t seem to notice it! Yeah… basically we’re getting here is Venus being a jerk and.. well being a jerk! Nothing like we all know him, still a jerk but the lovable type.. It’s not consistent with either personality 💀

PROTO:

Proto.. didn’t do enough to offend anyone but he still got flack for some things! Like his introduction to Theia (Which I personally believe that was more Theia’s fault than Proto’s) but I’ve seen people say that’s his fault… Anyways, Even outside of that. he was rather rude to Theia right afterwards, Neglecting her feelings for wanting to have life and overall being really arrogant to her before all of a sudden saying “Yup, I want to get life now..” and then they’re relationship began, Boy this relationship feels forced 💀

Also.. we didn’t see much of his interactions with Venus other than the scene I talked about and honestly the biggest issue with Proto is that the show doesn’t really explain or explore his side of things… He’s just… there.. like he’s important to the plot cause he’s the Earth!! (kinda) But.. we don’t know what he thinks of everything! And when we do.. he’s mostly too smitten with Theia to even get a close idea on what he truly thinks

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Soo.. what do I think about this?

Tbh, I didn’t really care for the love triangle issues when the episodes first aired.. mostly because we were just getting out of the first bad writing period, plus I’m not a big romance fiction type of person, So this got overglossed on my first watch

But I do acknowledge now after several rewatches, This love triangle has many flaws and problems, Every party in here.. has issues, Venus being way too obsessed with Theia, Theia neglecting people’s feelings and her and Proto’s relationship feels.. forced in some actions, I can definitely see why it didn’t click for people

But in the Characters and frankly the Writers defense.. It was an interesting concept and what the show really needed to get back on the right track after the beginning, And to be fair to the characters, keep in mind this is their past planet selves! So they haven’t experienced ya know Educational Era, Moon Revolution or X arc yet, So it does KINDA explain their character decisions here, Not all! But some!

Overall.. while I have some issues with how this Love Triangle went… It’s not terrible by any means! Is it badly written… Kinda? But is it truly awful like how some have described it? Definitely not! Besides SB has made other Romantic plots that have had it worse than these guys!

DISCLAIMER: DON’T harass anyone on these platforms! And please don’t go to war with them! I don’t want to see a SolarBalls Revloution breaking out ANYWHERE So again DO NOT HARASS ANYONE!!

Welp I wasn’t planning to discuss this as I already planned to talk about the SB leakers but I changed it, cause this topic seemed like the best time to discuss! (I will do SB Leakers at a future date! 👀)

Sooo… I’ve talked about previous SB Controversies but nothing quite like this one anyways… The Chrysalis Arc is.. well SPOILERS…. pretty bad! Though the last 2 episodes have been.. alright! Okay.. All of that will be discussed further when I do my big deep dive on that Arc.. (Lord help me there)

However the last few weeks ish I’ve been seeing people talk about how other SB Communities… and how they don’t “understand how bad things have gotten..” So I wanna talk about it in more depth! I’ll only focus on the 2 big ones.. I’ve been seeing recently YouTube and Discord! But there’s lots more but I haven’t seen much complaints coming from them!

With that out of the way let’s begin!

YOUTUBE:

Okay.. this section will be really quick as YouTube isn’t talked about as much as say Discord.. but it’s important to still mention it here cause I’ve seen some people here talk about this

Being the biggest platform (and the one that produces episodes) SB’s comments on both the videos and community posts.. umm are interesting to say the least.. Most if not all the videos and posts have been positive there’s very few if not 0 negative comments on there!

TMKP1 (horrible episode fyi) for an example had so many positive things to say about the episode it’s kinda ridiculous, Most talked about Sedna coming in and acting like Neptune’s helper.. Which I guess was kinda cool? But.. umm we never saw Neptune and the outer Dwarfs becoming friends on screen… And also Sedna kinda blindsided Titania into going with their plan.. + the Assassinated characters of Neptune and Uranus didn’t help… YET nobody talks about that in the YT Video comment section

The Community Posts… aren’t as bad as the videos.. but they’re still very bad! As it mostly exhibits the same issues as the videos well other than the preview images, and don’t get me started on the Live Chats as that’s a whole other discussion…

DISCORD:

SECOND DISCLAIMER: Discord users… I know you’ve been coming in here recently.. I’m making this EXTREMELY clear…. I and all of us Redditors don’t want any harm, we’re keeping things peaceful! And we respect if you do the same!

Aww yes.. the big thing.. and the most vocal criticism I’ve seen… Now I’m not in the official discord server, So do take what I say here with a big grain of salt.. But Discord has viewed the Chrysalis Arc more positively than I will say YouTube, and it has became apparent to them, and frankly the ones who ignited this Controversy, as Discord thinks we Redditors are hating this Arc far too excessively, and then us Redditors or well some of us, have seen Discord as being way too out of touch and overglazng, And I’m talking everything! From the writing, Neptune’s assassination, Sedna, you name it.. they bashed it…

And some of them went as far, to have the guts to pull my name and a few others from a comment section and talk trash about us… Yeah… I’m not surprised when SB’s Reddit actually got close to declaring war, As.. yeah that’s messed up buddy! We did nothing to you guys and then you do this.. Not to mention one last thing, you guys don’t even see us in other comment sections! All of us aren’t 100% negative, we do mostly talk about positives for the show! Soo you’re basing this off one bad comment… Yeah no wonder why Reddit went insane!

Ironically though funny enough when “TMKP2” aired they actually hated that episode! While the Reddit somewhat liked it! Boy they are the polar opposites of us, Anyways… Doesn’t help that the YouTube community or well some of them also isn’t a fan of the Discord people, due to reasons… I can’t 100% verify, so I will not be covering that as that’s a whole.. other can of worms

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Yeah.. I can definitely see why people especially here are frustrated cause a large portion of other communities have been more positive about.. well everything! Not just Chrysalis, and I’m assuming this has been going on for YEARS And because SB knows that a large portion of their feedback is positive, even on their worst episodes! They’ll likely just continue to write and produce more bad episodes one after the other, and then things fall apart into ruins

I’m of course not trying to bash EVERY single person on these apps! Cause.. ya know? Not everyone is bad! There’s people from YouTube, Discord and many other platforms that I didn’t mention who do see SB both positive and negatively

In the end.. this controversy is very interesting for sure! It has divided the fans on here and Discord and a bit on YouTube! While it’s natural for Fandoms to have disagreements, SolarBalls’s… is very divided based on who you ask and what kinda of platform your using….

Hopefully the Writing and Everything turns around soon! Which seems to be heading in that direction! And thank goodness, cause holy damn.. I’m not sure if the platforms can handle this much tension any longer!

Well guys I think we have figured out why the Writing for the last few episodes have been.. pretty awful! Alvaro has been away for some time on his honeymoon!

And with him trying to catch up as said in this YouTube post, no episode next week! Which.. I think that’s the best option! As holy damn.. have things been pretty dire the last few weeks!

Here we are guys!.. The Rouge Planets! So.. The Theia Arc ended on a really high note after a shaky beginning, but with the arc being controversial at several points, If seems the SB Team knew they needed to turn things around, So they decided to tackle something new, another arc this time about the Rouge Planets!

I will say.. It feels like the Team understood their previous mistakes in the last few major Era’s and tried to fix them, and I’ll say for the most part they did well with that! But like always it’s not perfect and more noticeable flaws are here like with Educational and Moon Revolution

So.. let’s begin!

POSITIVES:

The Writing has mostly improved compared to the last 2 Arc’s, while there’s still a few issues, At least there’s no more really bad character assassinations, or awful dialogue everything’s mostly going back to normal!.. The Animation here.. really reaches its peak with impressive lighting, new shots and heck the Character Designs changed to more accurate versions which most of them are pretty nice!

A ton of previously assassinated characters started to act like themselves again! Planet X in particular feels much more like his early X arc self and he would even use some of his “villain” traits to help the Planets out, definitely a massive step up here! Titania and frankly All the moons, were much more bearable here unlike the previous arc’s where they were so divided and very.. unstable, And despite it being kinda forced I did like Mercury apologizing for the “Stunt” comment.. you cannot believe how relieved I was when that first aired!

The New Characters here The Rouge’s and Dwarf Candidates are really interesting and all add something to the story… mostly, SIMP is a great villain, WISE, PSO, OGLE and I guess OTS are great villain side characters and their motivations are mostly clear! The Dwarf Candidates (Sedna, GongGong, Quaoar and Orcus) are very prominent in the beginning trying to warn everyone about the Rouge’s, it did seemed like we were being set up for the Dwarfs to take action like the last arc.. umm.. more on them in a bit

Planet Revolution.. honestly? Deserves its own separate post as there is a TON to talk about here! But to quickly recap these episodes, From The Planets coming back realizing that the Sun is beyond the point of reason, to them apologizing to one another for their previous actions in other Era’s (most notably the stunt comment), to Ganymede leading them in the Revolution, to the Revolution ACTUALLY WORKING? And of course the Rouge Planets coming to help them! I’ve said this in the Moon Revolution post, but the Team definitely learned from their previous mistakes here! And it resulted in amazing episodes! A step up from the first revolution!

Sun had admittedly great character development! Him finally coming to understand that he cannot continue to act like a total maniac, as his biggest fear came true that he was left alone.. AstroDude opening the door for communication between Sun and Earth + Moon then for them to actually talk things out is awesome! Not as great as Earth’s development from MR but compared to the past few Redemptions this one was done well!

The final showdown between SIMP and Sun was an absolute bang! And like The Earth Awakens was an absolute standout! The Rouge’s trying everything they can to take down the Sun, to the Sun’s solar flare, to the Planets and Dwarfs finding their way back from the Solar Flare and the final confrontation.. There’s no “hey, talk it out and everyone gets along” No.. Sun and SIMP had words and that was that, and while it does suck X didn’t come back to the Solar System I’m glad his send off to be with the Rouge’s was MUCH better!

NEGATIVES:

Like the Theia Arc, there isn’t too many negatives here as most of it is in the middle… and that’s mostly where it’s at nothing too big negatives like the last couple era’s, So let’s get this started! First things first while the Rouge’s are interesting we don’t know much about their origins, like can we have an episode explaining how they came to be and why SIMP is their leader? I feel that would’ve worked better… X and Theia arc’s had backstories! So why not here?

Mostly Everyone here.. was pretty stupid at certain points, So many Characters were dumbed down for the sake of Plot, Now I understand sometimes characters have to be dumb, as you can’t get a story if they’re smart.. but Jesus, We’re talking INSANELY Dumb moments here from the Planets blindly agreeing to join the Rouge’s without hearing all their conditions, To the Dwarfs deciding to stay in the Rouge Kingdom AFTER they made it clear they didn’t want to? To even the Rouge’s wanting Earth DESPITE likely seeing him freeze in the Theia Arc.. None of this really makes any sense

PSO and OTS.. don’t really do much in this Arc, both are heavily neglected! OTS especially, being the last major rouge introduced and being nothing but a plot device for the Rouge’s idea AND she didn’t even appear in the final episode.. PSO was pretty prominent in the beginning but then his screentime grew less and less, I liked the idea of him looking up to The Moons for the Moon Revolution but that wasn’t explored further..

Speaking of Characters not doing much the Dwarfs again.. got sidelined.. Seriously this is the 3rd Arc in which our dwarfies were shoved to the side.. What is with that? Not to mention they did have interesting stuff in the beginning with Charon not being happy with Sedna leading or Orcus saying he’s the “Anti-Pluto” but nothing more happens outside of that.. seriously we have 4 new characters and we learn very little about them, hell Quaoar and Orcus are like Mars in a way, just basically there like NPC’s

WISE… is very inconsistent at times, okay after admittedly a slow start and pretty awesome middle, during the end it seemed the Writers flip flopped on him MANY times, In one episode he could seem to be turning to the Planets side with the Dwarfs and X calling him “UNWISE” but then next episode he’s such a jerk to everyone.. like pick a side Writing Team is he changing or not? And why have this go for multiple episodes? I know Titan kinda went through the same thing, but it was done better then!

The biggest negative is the fact Arc feels.. unfinished like the Team had more ideas and plans but because Chrysalis and the Movie were needing to get done, They had to wrap things up as fast as they could like we didn’t see OTS’s reaction in the final episode, WISE’s character shift feels kinda rushed, and OGLE’s realization that Stars were not all bad definitely needed another episode or sorts, they definitely needed more time to flesh these out!

FINAL THOUGHTS:

The Rouge Arc overall.. while not perfect is certainly a big step up compared to X and Theia Arc’s, and definitely better than the Moon Revolution in terms of positives and It is much more bearable to sit through with everything seeming to be going in the right direction, which is a big relief to see!

The Animation and Character Designs are really good here! The newbies were mostly interesting, The Planet Revolution was a bang, Sun’s Character Development was really good! and The Final Showdown between SIMP and Sun was an epic episode, There’s a ton of good here! But like every Era, It’s not all positive though, Half the new Characters were sidelined, Everyone acted really stupid and brain dead at certain points, and overall it feels.. unfinished in certain areas

But I do think its highs are much higher than Theia’s and overall at least it stayed MOSTLY consistent throughout, The middle got a little bumpy yes, but the beginning and end were definitely solid! And with the past few era’s being inconsistent this was a big breath of fresh air!

Sooo from me rewatching every analysis and keeping up with modern day SolarBalls here’s my updated character ranking! And I have included my earlier May ranking in here as well! and a few things I’ve noticed when looking at the two

First thing, congrats to Enceladus, Mimas and Oberon for moving up from No Opinion to Okay territory! As I actually remember some things you 3 did! And congrats Venus for making it to my top 5 favorites!

Second thing…. Neptune has fallen off badly going from my second favorite to 22nd I’m sorry the way he’s acting in the Chrysalis Arc is truly a downgrade.. 💀

Hey guys!.. So I’m working on my next big deep dive, The Rouge’s Analysis (which is coming out Sunday) but to keep things interesting and hopefully post a little more, Here’s a mini deep dive for you guys! Basically I’m gonna take a scene, an episode, or anything else and talk about them! basically Stuff that doesn’t need a whole Sunday type post!

And the first one is… Uranus and Neptune’s “rushed” scene at the end of the Theia Arc.. So let’s begin!

CONTEXT:
A bit of context is needed first!

Uranus rage quitted the Solar System in JIBP2 in hopes to find his Friendo Planet X who left at the end of BOPXP4 because he’s convinced nobody in the Solar System cares for him, After Jupiter failed to convince him to go back in Earth’s Core Part 1, Neptune shows up next episode and wants to go with Uranus to X, Now calling him Caleus, after some traveling and talking Uranus decides rather persuasively to stop with his bruised ego and go back to The Solar System and make things right

RECEPTION:

NEGATIVES: So.. okay.. people have said this feels rushed because of how it plays out, Neptune randomly shows up after MONTHS of being out of commission, and then starts acting really weird, Uranus’s realization.. is too sudden like there’s little to no time for him to think about what could happen if he continues going to find X, Some have said Neptune was “OOC” in this section and that he and Uranus were never really friends (yet alone Cousins)

POSITIVES: However I’ve seen people defend this scene, People have pointed out that Neptune wasn’t “OOC” and that he was doing what he did best! Like with Pluto in MR he has his own unique way of getting his point across!, Neptune also has more personal things to say about Uranus, than say Planet X does, So it makes sense why the writers picked him instead of X! and Uranus’s realization does kinda make sense as he didn’t want Neptune to revert back to his Educational Era self, as we’ve seen in the Past Planets he feels guilty cause in someway he caused Neptune to go insane, So he did it before insanity reached their brains

FINAL THOUGHTS:

So.. do I think this scene was rushed or was it blown out of proportion? Well after reviewing everything… I’d say…

It was rushed, to some extent

Now I do understand the defenders here, as yes I do see where the Team was trying to go with Neptune and Uranus here, as yes Neptune has personally known Uranus longer than anyone else has, and him convincing him to come back was the best outcome as other Characters like Jupiter couldn’t get him to return! It just can’t work with Planet X or any other character as they haven’t known Uranus as long as Neptune

But the delivery here did feel off in someway.. + what also didn’t help was that by this point many SB Fans, were ready to be done with the Theia Arc as the writing was really up and down, So that also probably contributed into this scene feeling “rushed”

Overall while I think the Concept was great and certainly interesting, Execution?… is a little hazy

Okay, Here we are.. The Theia Arc, after a pretty bad, rushed and disappointing Planet X Arc, The SolarBalls Team have made it clear in the final X videos that they’re excited to tackle.. Theia, a believed planet from the early Solar System which crashed into Earth, and thus gave us the Moon! Okay another Earth arc can’t be too bad right?

Oh boy… This arc is very divided based on who you ask, As some people really like this Arc while others don’t, There are so many things to talk about here, So you can imagine this was quite hard to write.. took me like 3 rewrites without getting too controversial, But I did it anyways! I managed to get it to work!

With that out of the way let’s begin!

POSITIVES:

The Animation Issues that appeared in the end of X’s arc pretty much disappeared which is a delight to see, and it seems the animation in general has greatly improved, As the lighting and background designs are noticeably better than the last few Era’s, and some of these shots are impressive to look at! Especially during the Past Planet videos, the ending, and even the beginning had some decent stuff, Truly an amazing arc based on visuals! And this will only get better in the next Arc!

All of our prominent Main Cast Characters got important roles here!, and they all got to mostly do something here! AstroDude played a big role in this one after being quite dormant for the last 3 Era’s, The Dwarfs had an adventure to save the Earth, The Planets all going on adventures as well largely to get Earth or Uranus back to their Orbits, Pretty interesting concept (if it was executed better, more on that in a bit) The Moons didn’t appear that much, but they got to do some stuff, and even Ceres got a pretty good role! And we got to know a lot about him as well!

Métis got used quite a bit during the beginning! Now she did debut in Planet X’s arc but didn’t get enough time to do much of anything, but in this arc she was pretty prominent! Being sent by the Moons to find Jupiter, and then getting the Dwarfs to help Earth, only to go on an adventure with them into deep space to get Jupiter to help Earth, Like Proteus this really helped her stand out from the others, and we got to know a bit about her! Now she’s not used as much in the ending, but that’s okay! I’m glad she’s here in the beginning really the few shining lights of that period!

We got more insight into the Past and saw where the Characters modern personalities came from, way more than in X’s arc, From Neptune and Ceres going insane, The Triton Incident, The Sun’s increasing mental instability, Uranus being very insecure, Earth’s pre redemption dialogue in Theia and Proto, Venus’s hot headedness, Pluto’s treatment in the early days, there’s a lot of stuff here that helps explain why the characters are well our lovable planets that we know today!

The Crash and Aftermath… oh boy was the Team really cooking with these episodes! I liked Theia’s goal here to make the Sun happy, her and Proto’s love story was pretty good! Not great mind you, but decent enough! Venus and Mars played an important role in contributing to the crash, and of course that fateful Kiss… and The Aftermath was great! One of the few times SB stayed consistent after an awesome episode, We saw Venus’s guilt and speech, the Sun wanting to hear everyone’s side on what happened without going mad, and all wrapped up with Earth and Moon forming and waking up.. Boy the team was really pulling their all into here!

The final episode is really awesome! And a strong way to end off this arc, with our main 8 planets + the Dwarfs and AstroDude all together, The Planets cheering on AstroDude realizing he’s okay making him feel part of the team, Earth finally getting out of the Kuiper Belt and we even had some sad scenes when Proto and Theia told Earth to say Hi and that Theia still sees Venus as a friend which made him cry, which is pretty sad to watch, and to the final shots showing the next Arc and what will happen then truly a PEAK episode!

NEGATIVES:

Honestly the negatives here are just a bunch of small negatives, with a big glaring negative that kinda ruins the entire Arc.. Anyways.. let’s get through the small negatives really quick.. Some of The Thumbnails took a nose dive this Arc.. with many MANY questionable ones being all over the place!, Neptune straight up disappeared for SEVERAL months and then he comes back only for his and Uranus’s “rushed” scene to occur (I plan to cover that in more detail in a future post)

The Writing.., is this arc’s big glaring negative.. Hell you can easily make the argument the writing got even WORSE than Planet X’s writing! Let’s start with the pacing.. Unlike X’s arc where the episodes feel rushed, The opposite happened some episodes feel like they’re dragging out the plot, like “What if Earth left the Solar System to Lost Earth” essentially nothing much of note happens! As the same 4 mini plots are repeated again and again.. God this arc would’ve been done in half the time if these videos had not existed! And then other times it’s a bit too forced like with the Romance stuff for example the pacing is very inconsistent!

If you thought X’s character assassination was bad? Well.. he wasn’t the only one… Several main characters also got character assassinated, Some got it worse than others, but it caused a ton of reputations to go down in the Fandom, With Mercury, Earth, Moon, Mars, Uranus, Titania, IO, Phobos, Deimos being completely unrecognizable and what’s worse is that several of them continued to act like this assassinated character for MONTHS after.. even during the ending some of them were still out of character!

The Dialogue here… is pretty bad, not just the beginning but like half of the Arc is filled with pretty bad dialogue, Like for a few examples Ceres’s whole entropy thing was cool don’t get me wrong, but then it gets repeated through several characters, it feels kinda off.. Earth’s whole spiel about Proto and Theia is really cringy at certain moments especially during the End, anddd how can we forget M*rcury’s infamous “Stunt” Comment… Seriously how in the world was that even approved? Did the team forget what happened in Moon Revolution?

A lot of characters made extremely questionable decisions and their actions sometimes don’t really make any sense.. like okay for a few examples Venus and Saturn saw Earth heading for the Kuiper Belt and NEITHER STOPPED HIM?! Like I understand somewhat but y’all don’t care for AstroDude’s earthlings?, The Dwarfs for some reason needing to find Jupiter to get Earth back in his orbit, although theoretically Saturn could do it, he’s also bigger than the Earth! Lastly Theia changing her motivation for wanting to have life, feeling that was her “Purpose” when it’s clear she wants to make the Sun happy.. Unfortunately this will become very prominent in the next Arc

The overall love triangle Theia, Venus and Proto had?… It’s a complete controversial mess, It’s interesting yes, but Theia and Venus made a ton of questionable decisions to one another with Theia being considered a bad friend for being “Self Centered” and she “Took advantage of Venus” according to several people, and Venus got obsessed with her and acted rather aggressive and.. controlling? I guess, Proto didn’t do much to offend anyone but did contribute into putting himself and Theia’s life in danger SEVERAL times + Theia and Proto aren’t great “Parents” to Earth as they basically died just so Earth can do their work… Not the best when you watch in that regard

FINAL THOUGHTS:
The Theia Arc… overall, well is a complete mixed bag, It has many noticeable highs, but many equally noticeable lows as well! To me at least, It’s definitely better than the Planet X arc by a long shot.. but it’s not quite Moon Revolution good in retrospect

This Arc is pretty badly written and everyone here is kinda brain dead, The quality really depended on the video, The Characters didn’t feel like themselves at several points, The pacing is pretty bad, and some of the Actions are really questionable, Overall pretty bad all things considered, But the highs of this Arc are really high, We saw more glimpses into the Characters in the Past Planet section, The Crash and Aftermath were done right, Everyone mostly got to do something here, and the ending is without a doubt solid!

To me I feel the Theia Arc has a lot of things going for it, and I would rank it higher than MR based on its high points, but… the Writing isn’t as great, And that’s honestly really frustrating cause I do see where the Team was trying to go with it, Hell I like some things they did here! But that god awful beginning and the other points just pretty much ruins the whole Arc in some aspects

Overall Rating: 8/10

Alright.. things are pretty dire now.. with 2 Arc’s being pretty bad and divisive respectively, SolarBalls clearly needs to turn something around and get out of this hole they dug, But everything changes come the next era… The Rouge Planets, Only good things lie ahead!
