Why do the Norse Gods age?

I would like to know if there is any mythological or philosophical purpose behind the Norse gods not being immortal and aging as long as they don't eat the idunn apples. Bc of course most gods are not like the christian one immortal omnipotent and such but for example the greek gods are still immortal, through ambrosia and don't seem to age. Also them aging seems to imply that they are sheer residents of the world and (maybe) not inherently connected to it like some gods seem to be. Can anyone tell me if this is has some inherit meaning or if the Norse had a different understand then the greeks again.

Could Land corals even exist under gravity?

So there are is a lot of discussion about terrestrial corals and the main thing people always say it that the atmosphere needs atleast similiar levels of particle flow as there is innthe ocean to justify sessile filter feeders. But eve iif we assume there is enough aeroplankton in the lower atmosphere for this livestyle to be viable, what kind of animals even could adopt it, i don't think many sessile underwater genera could just exsist the same way on land, even if they had lungs and didn't dry out immedeatly, in water the effect of gravity is way less noiticable then on land. So i would be quite curious if some or any Marine invertebrate could adapt to the gravity on land in that manner or if terrestrial sessiles could evolve which genera would most likely take advantage of this niche more sucessfully. I am not that knowledgeable on sessile invertebrate so i would ask here on some of y'all opinions

Why do Crinoid forest not exsist anymore?

I feel kind dumb for asking but i don't quite understand why crinoid forest never made a comeback in certain areas. I know corals Dominate in tropical waters but cooler waters kinda seem ideal for them. Echinodermata definitily seem much better adapted for low energie environments like the deep see or even arctic waters and they certainly don't seem to have competition there. So when it doesn't seem to be a competition or temperature problem i really don't know what could prevent them from poping up there. Are there other factors that play into the development of such ecosytems. Was there just never a reson for them to gather in such groups again. I would really like to know if there is something i am missing?

▲ 15 r/Amphibians+1 crossposts

When looking into the fossil record i can't help but noitice that many large Amphibians have very big Heads and mouths, even compared to the rest of the body. When i thought about it with some frogs and toads 30% of their body is also just their head. Is it bc of the way they eat or does it have another evolutionary purpose? I actually find this phenomenom (if it actually is one and i just happend to see outliers) very interesting and would like to know why this could be
