I have a 2017 VW that needs a/c repair. I had it tested, all of the refrigerant leaks out and they believe it requires a new condenser. I received this quote 2 years ago, so I wouldn’t doubt if it’s increased now.

I was quoted $800-1000 at my mechanic. I know prices differ depending on make/model, but I’m just looking to see if anyone has had this repair done around Barrie, what the price was, and any possible recommendations for shops.

I use my car for work and I don’t think I can handle a fourth year of no a/c in my car.

I have an upcoming trip to the UK in the summer. This will be my first time leaving Canada.

I’ve been reading lots of articles lately about the risk of travelling overseas, especially this summer, due to potential flight cancellations from fuel shortages. At first I thought it was just news outlets fear mongering. But the Canadian government is basically saying at this point if you choose to travel abroad and get stuck there, you’re on your own.

I’m honestly considering cancelling all together. I’m really looking forward to my trip, but I’m so full of anxiety I’m afraid it’s going to ruin the experience for me.

I’m thinking at this point I’m just going to wait it out until closer to my trip time. If things appear to be much worse than it is now and flights are being cancelled, I guess I’ll have to make a decision.
