Looking for holographic sheets for UV printing trading cards (EufyMake UV Printer)

Hi everyone! 😄

I'm about to buy a EufyMake UV printer, and one of my main goals is to print custom collectible trading cards on holographic material.

Before I start buying supplies, I'd love to hear from people who have actually done this successfully.

I'm trying to figure out which type of holographic sheets gives the best balance between quality and cost. Specifically, I'm wondering:

  • Is it better to buy holographic rolls or individual sheets?
  • Are there any suppliers or brands you would recommend?
  • Should I buy printable holographic adhesive sheets, or are regular holographic adhesive sheets good enough for UV printing?
  • Has anyone compared the results between printable and non-printable holographic media?

My biggest concern is preserving the holographic shine. I'm worried that if I print directly onto non-printable holographic sheets, the UV ink might dull or "kill" the holographic effect instead of letting it shine through.

I'm based in Europe (Italy), so the easiest places for me to order materials are Amazon Italy or Chinese marketplaces like Alibaba, AliExpress, or Temu. If you've found good products from any of these sources, I'd really appreciate recommendations.

If you've made holographic trading cards (or similar products) with a UV printer and are happy with your results, I'd really appreciate hearing:

  • What material you're using.
  • Whether you're printing directly onto the holographic surface.
  • Any tips or mistakes to avoid.
  • Photos of your results would be amazing if you're willing to share!

Thanks in advance! I'm hoping to avoid wasting money on the wrong materials before I get started. 👀

How do you design UV-printed textured holo custom cards?

Hi everyone!

I'm just getting started with UV printing and I'm planning to buy a EufyMake UV printer to make custom collectible trading cards.

Right now I'm trying to understand the design workflow before I even start printing. I've been reading about UV printing, spot gloss, varnish layers, raised textures, and different file types, but I'm still confused about the complete process.

My goal is to create cards similar to the one in the attached photo (this isn't my work, Karedas_ made it—I'm only sharing it as an example of the kind of finish I'm trying to achieve). I love the combination of holographic effects, selective glossy areas, and raised textures.

Could someone explain the workflow step by step?

For example:

  • What layers/files do I actually need to create?
  • In what order are they used during UV printing?
  • How do you decide which areas should be glossy, textured, or left matte?
  • Do I need separate masks for white ink, varnish, and texture?
  • What file formats does the EufyMake software expect?

I'm also wondering what software people typically use.

I'm comfortable with Photoshop (I currently use Photopea for most things), and I have some old experience with Illustrator that I'm happy to brush up on if that's the better tool. If there are other programs that are commonly used for UV printing workflows, I'm willing to learn those as well.

If anyone has experience creating UV-printed trading cards, I'd really appreciate:

  • A breakdown of your complete workflow.
  • Which software you use for each step.
  • How you organize your layers/files.
  • Any beginner mistakes I should avoid.
  • Tutorials or learning resources that you found especially helpful.

I'm not looking for shortcuts—I actually want to understand the whole process properly so I can build a solid workflow from the beginning.

Thanks in advance! :)
