Further to my independent and unsolicited review of the quality of the sheets and the subsequent customer service received from Ecodownunder, published on 27th June 2026, under the heading:

I have received A NOTICE OF DEFAMATORY PUBLICATIONS CONCERNING ECODOWNUNDER SENT BY:

Russell Lamb, Managing Director, Ecodownunder Pty Ltd

The NOTICE OF CONCERNS has been Issued pursuant to section 12A of the Defamation Act 2005 (NSW) on 24 July 2026.

Mr Russel Lamb, MD, Ecodownunder Pty Ltd, has requested the following action be taken to avoid legal action regarding my consumer review of Ecodownunder:

Demands for Resolution

To avoid the initiation of formal legal proceedings in the District or Supreme Court, our client requires that you take the following steps within 28 days of the date of this notice:

Immediate Removal: Permanently delete and remove the Publication from Reddit, ProductReview.com.au and any other platform where you have shared these remarks.
Written Undertaking: Provide a written undertaking to our client that you will not publish any further defamatory statements concerning Ecodownunder.
Apology: Publish a brief, public retraction and apology on the same platforms, clarifying that the dispute has been resolved.

My written formal response to Mr Russel Lamb, Ecodownunder Pty Ltd, is therefore is as requested:

The independent consumer review will be permanently deleted and removed from Reddit, ProductReview.com.au and any other platform where it was published within 28 days of the date of this notice.
This posting serves as a written undertaking to Ecodownunder that i will not publish any further defamatory statements concerning Ecodownunder.
This serves as a brief, public retraction and apology for my scathing review of the Ecodownunder products and my equally scathing review of the Ecodownunder customer service on the same platforms as mentioned in 1 above, clarifying that the dispute has been resolved.

In light of my compliance with all of the requests contained in the Notice of Concerns issued by Mr Russel Lamb, Ecodownunder Pty Ltd , I conclude that this matter is now resolved and that no further action will be taken.

Ecodownunder - a company not to be trusted!

Despite what they may have written on their website, all the nice fluffy self congratulatory marketing speak about being a family owned business and about quality and ethics. That’s all it is. Just words.

This is a company not to be trusted. I strongly advise you to shop elsewhere.

Their after sales service is absolutely appalling and an utter disgrace.

They show complete disregard for consumer rights and contempt for Australian Consumer Law.

Brand-new sheets were bought for a brand-new king-size bed.
Never used.
Washed on the day of arrival to remove the packaging creases.

And the dye in the sheets ran immediately leaving nice white patches.

Ecodownunder were immediately contacted but instead of an apology and immediate replacement we got an inquisition, blame and arrogance.

Ecodownunder absolved themselves of all responsibility and blamed it on household bleach or other products and had the absolute nerve and audacity to call the sheets ‘reasonably new’. Reasonably new?? 2 day old sheets??

We have bought their products over many years. Trying to support Australian companies with ethics. But never ever again.

If like us, you are tired of consumer rights being trampled on and treated as a joke.

If you are sick of arrogant retailers believing they are above the law, then I strongly suggest you shop elsewhere.
