Alright, we made a wooden coaster poll.
Because apparently the world needed one more of these.

The difference is that this one is built around Mitch Hawker-style head-to-head comparisons instead of just throwing everybody’s Top 10 into a bucket and seeing which coaster has the most friends.

Which, no disrespect to the Golden Ticket Awards, is how you end up asking questions like “how did The Beast win something again?”

If you rank Voyage over Thunderhead, that matchup is only compared against ballots from people who have actually ridden both Voyage and Thunderhead.

So if you’ve ridden 14 wooden coasters, your opinion on those 14 actually matters. You do not need to have ridden every wooden coaster built since 1927, own cargo pants with zip-off legs, or personally know somebody at Holiday World.

And for the old schoolers: NO SPREADSHEET EDITING.

You can just use the website like it’s the future.

Rank the coasters you’ve ridden.
We compare everybody’s shared rides against each other.

Then a computer does a bunch of math that is significantly more sophisticated than anything that should be associated with a podcast called Your Favorite Coaster Sucks.

We’ve also spent an embarrassing amount of time teaching the thing that:
“RF2” means Ravine Flyer II
“Thunder + Dollywood” probably means Thunderhead
two coasters can have the same name
parks occasionally rename things for no good reason

The goal is pretty simple: make a worldwide wooden coaster ranking that depends more on actual shared riding experience and less on who has the biggest credit count, who remembers to fill out a ballot every year, or which park handed out the nicest hors d’oeuvres at an awards ceremony.

Go rank your wood.
