I wrote a dark string track that suddenly turns into a massive cinematic orchestra. What kind of scene does this bring to mind?

I started this track as a quiet, melancholic string piece for late-night listening, but halfway through I couldn't resist turning it into a huge film-score moment.

I love dark, atmospheric instrumental music when reading or playing games, so I wanted to blend that quiet sad vibe with something epic and heavy.

Give it a spin if you like cinematic soundtracks or dark orchestral music. Curious what kind of imagery pops into your head when you hear this.

Is literal epic orchestral scale too massive for neoclassical darkwave, or does it work?

Most darkwave stays pretty minimalist and intimate. On my first track, I wanted to take those dark, melancholic string textures and smash them into a literal epic orchestral arrangement.

I know purists usually prefer the quiet, atmospheric side of the genre, so I am really curious if taking it into this big, cinematic space stretches the genre too far for you guys.

Give it a spin if you are down for something heavier:
