Dell Precision 7670 powers on but won’t boot / no Dell logo after recovery and diagnostic error loop
Hi everyone,
I have a Dell Precision 7670 laptop and I’m trying to understand what kind of issue this could be.
At first, the laptop showed a Windows Recovery screen with:
Error code: 0xc0000428
“The digital signature for this file couldn’t be verified.”
After that, I ran Dell pre-boot diagnostics and it showed:
Memory errors detected. Limit exceeded. Additional errors will not be healed.
Error code: 2000-0122
Now the laptop does not boot normally. It powers on partially: the keyboard backlight turns on, and the LCD/screen test passes, so the screen itself seems to work. But it does not reach the Dell logo and does not boot into Windows.
Has anyone seen this type of issue on a Dell Precision laptop? What hardware problem does this usually point to? Could this be something repairable like a replaceable component, or does it usually require a motherboard replacement?
Also, since this is a company laptop and I have important data on the SSD, should I be worried about data loss, or is the storage likely separate from this kind of boot failure? Thanks in advance.
