Fishing is still quite horrible. A suggestion

Fishing is still quite horrible. A suggestion

Came back to this game after few years hiatus. I see there was a fishing migration update. It is still extremely punishing and disrespectful of users time.

Referencing https://www.toontownrewritten.com/news/item/802/reel-it-in-for-the-fish-migration-update:

I was quite baffled when I read

> “We’ve determined that the issue is actually not that the ultra rares are too difficult to obtain! Rather, the issue is getting the exact fish they need

This can’t be right. The issue is the expectation of playerbase to spend an unbounded amount of time clicking a random number generator in hopes it will, this time, land on a specific number. With no end in sight, no feeling of progression. Just please waste your time.

I’m writing this after feeling like a fool aimlessly fishing in the “right” ponds. So I am bitter, and it is fresh. I’m giving up on that last fish because I respect myself too much.

You can sink hours and hours, not get your fish, have nothing to show for it. You don’t even get to keep the jellybeans due to limits.

There is no light at the end of the tunnel, just more hoping with the same odds. The RNG is the most unhealthy aspect of this game.

TT devs please, for the love of god, at least bias fish towards “missing fish” of player, or at least give a skill meter that increases with each caught fish with small reward so I at least FEEL like I’m getting something after sinking hours into this disrespectful use of my time.

Before folks tell me not to worry and just fish between stuff in off periods. That might work. Might not. It’s a random number generator. By definition your mileage may vary. I say again it isn’t healthy.

I know for a fact I don’t care for fishing and would do very little when I “feel” like it. I’ve by now fished far more buckets than I ever would have naturally over the course of years playing this game. The mechanic is busted, if the expectation is that folks who want to can actually complete it.
