Communities for Uncs in their 30's+?
I know this post is going to sound ageist, but please hear me out.
I'm a returning player who's first experience with CS was on the original Xbox in 2003. Growing up I was primarily a console kid, but I built my first gaming pc in my teens and enjoyed that scene for a while - ultimately gravitating back to console since that's where my friends were.
Fast forward almost 20 years, and I'm exclusively PC and never looking back. I've played my fair share of shooters, and dabbled in the competitive scene back in Halo 3 peak days. Over the last month or so, I've become inexorably bound to learning CS and actually sticking with it. I have a short list of friends that play the game, and while they're great to play with, are all late teens early twenties. Just a different season of life and different priorities, no hate against them whatsoever - they've been very kind to help an unc like me figure things out.
I'd really love to find a Discord community that's geared towards folks in my age bracket, and wouldn't mind taking in a newbie player who is eager to learn. I'm not a sweat, but I'm competitive. I'm also in a season of life where I can't be online all the time (job, family, responsibilities, life happens).
If you've read this far, I appreciate it - and if you're a member or an admin of such a community, I'd love to hear more about it.
I'm NA based, EST.
