Feature suggestion again, this time... layovers

At large, multi-platform terminus stations (Stepford Victoria, Willowfield, Llyn-by-the-Sea) etc, what about if you could have a layover time of like 10 minutes?

Pros:

- Helps you catch lateness

- is realistic

- allows for natural pauses (toilet break, need to fetch something, get a quick snack etc) without causing disruption

Cons:

- Not good for big servers

- Some people might want to just terminate and go again for points (could make it like a setting when you terminate where you select a layover time if you want one

- Probably not the best for signallers or dispatchers

Furthermore, could we have calling points that stop at major stations or a turnaround station where you switch ends as a layover for 3-5 minutes aswell like in real life, and make the timetable more realistic?

If it can't be done for 50+ player servers, could that be a feature for a reduced server count like we had the 20 a few years ago?

Lemme know what you guys think about this

Announcement system suggestions

The current announcement system is fine don't get me wrong.

However I have a few suggestions:

  1. At major stations, add "which is ready to leave"

Example announcement below:

The train now standing at Platform 2, for the 10:59 Stepford Express service to Llyn-by-the-Sea. Calling at: Leighton City and Llyn-by-the-Sea. This train is formed of 10 coaches. First Class is located at the front of the train. Passengers intending to travel on this service, please join the train now as it is ready to leave.

  1. At some stations, repeat the start bit without the calling at bit (So after the coaches or first class line, say Platform <number> for the <time> <operator> service to <destination>.

  2. At some stations, don't say the coaches (mainly WL stations I'm looking at for this) as some irl ones don't always say the number of coaches.

  3. When a station has no trains scheduled at all or not for the next 5-10 minutes or more, play safety announcements (like 61016, CCTV in operation at this station, unattended baggage will be destroyed, those kinds of announcements.

  4. In AirLink and Express trains, do automated safety announcements at random times, or halfway between stops, however only after 3 stops will it trigger to avoid repetition. On other operators, make it a random time once in the entire journey.

  5. Announce disruption events if it affects the train (not rlly my brightest one I'll be honest)

What do you guys think about this?
