New construction home landscaping ideas? Should we let the soil “settle”?

Buying a new construction home with a yard that needs landscaping. I heard it’s better to let the soil “settle” for a year before doing any big landscaping like concrete and bbq stations and such. Any recommendations on how to temporarily landscape it? Is it even important to let the soil settle for a while before doing anything?
Thanks!

New construction home - 3rd party inspection recommended or no need?

We’re buying a new build by Lennar and they told us they do a walk through with us a week before closing and then if we want, we can get our own independent inspection of the house right after.
Is this recommended to get a 3rd party inspection of the home even thought it’s a new build and there are warranties in place or we don’t need to?
Thanks!
