Wet area downhill from pool

TLDR: We’ve had a wet muddy area downhill from our pool and we don’t know where the source of moisture is.

New pool and homeowner here. We’ve had this wet/muddy spot downhill from our pool since we moved in a few months ago and we can’t figure out where the water is coming from.

I’ve done a bucket test and the pool doesn’t seem to be losing anymore than normal evaporation.

We do have an autofill on the pool.

That downhill area seems to be more wet in the mornings than it is in the middle of the day when the waterfalls and lumps are running.

I have noticed that in the morning before my pumps kick on, my spa water level is about an inch below the tile line and then fills back up once the pumps turn on. That made me think that it could’ve been a check valve but those look good.

Really don’t want to call a leak specialist and pay 375 just for them to tell me there isn’t a leak.

It’s not irrigation because I’ve had that system off for 2 weeks now and I don’t think that it’s drainage either due to the fact that everyone’s pool in the neighborhood is uphill from the sidewalk but I’m the only one with a wet sidewalk.

Really just lost, looking for answers, hoping that maybe someone has seen or dealt with this before. Thanks.
