Took advantage of a glut of cherry tomatoes in the garden ..

Got this salad out of a Nigella Lawson cookbook.

Cut a bunch of cherry tomatoes in half. Arrange cut side up in oven safe dish. Sprinkle with olive oil, thyme, salt, pinch of sugar. Turn oven to 450, place tomatoes inside, turn off when it reaches 450 and let the tomatoes sit either overnight or all day.

Throw a bunch of arugula and or baby spinach on a platter. Dot with goat cheese, then slivered fresh mint. Add the tomatoes. Then make a little dressing of the pan juices by adding a squeeze of lemon juice, more salt if you need it, splash of olive oil if you want. Pepper all over the top.

Serve with crusty bread. Yum!

A friend has asked me to write a letter in support of her relationship with her husband, who is an immigrant facing deportation. Tips for what to include?

Apparently the feds are scrutinizing their relationship and believe their marriage to be fraudulent, entered into for immigration purposes only. This is absolutely not the case; I have never seen my friend happier. Unfortunately things are not looking good and she just asked me to include a letter in this latest round of court documents. I’m very comfortable vouching for her and their relationship, but am sort of at odds as to what the letter should look like and what points I should be making.

Has anyone done such a thing or had a similar letter drafted for them? If so, I’d be grateful if you could send some tips my way. Time is apparently of the essence here.

TIA for any advice you can give me.

2 questions for my fellow pickle lovers: 1) who loves pickled garlic? and 2) does it give you horrible breath and body odor if you scarf down a ton of it?

I came across a huge jar of pickled garlic and decided I had to try some. It’s a bit salty but it SMACKS. I ate an awful lot yesterday. Like, at least 10 cloves. Am I about to start reeking? My spouse says I smell but he’s definitely messing with me because that’s what we do.
