I have an opportunity to visit Zimbabwe in about a month, traveling with a friend who was born there and still has family in Zimbabwe. I'm a white American, and my traveling companion is a black woman from Zimbabwe.
My question is very simple, will I be safe traveling there as a tourist? What things should I be aware of, to travel safely?
I received an incoming call from someone claiming to be from Uber support. Said they received a report from a customer that I didn't match the picture on my account, so they canceled the ride. To confirm my identity, they just confirmed the vehicle, license plate number, and the last six digits of my driver's license number.
After the call, I contacted Uber support, and Uber support indicated that it was not them, and most likely a scam call. What kind of damage can a scammer do with the last six digits of my driver's license number, my plate number, make and model of my car?
