Android Issue that everyone is talking about...help

Ive read that a lot of E-ink devices running Android won't be supported/updated in the next couple of years. Can someone explain what exactly that means? Please explain like I'm 5, lol.

I have a second gen Boox Go 7. I use it for Youtube, reading, light internet browsing, very light social media and email.

Should I be worried? If so, how can i combat whatever will happen and keep my device for as long as possible?

Questions I have before purchasing..

I love e-ink devices and was really interested in buying a tablet eventually. Bigme devices apparently have the best refresh rate available right now and I'd like to use it for some youtube and social media. I understand the limitations of an e-ink screen and video refresh rate but I am willing to deal with it.

Some questions I have ...

  1. I've read online that Bigme devices are loaded with spyware... is this true? If so, is there a way to block it somehow? What would you suggest? (I know about how most Android and Google devices have the same issues. Why are people more concerned about Chinese spyware then?) I am also slowly trying to....de-Google. Currently using a Mudita Kompakt as my daily driver and loving it.

  2. I've also read online that Bigme's customer service and warranty information is almost nonexistent. How did you guys feel confident enough to drop hundreds of dollars on a device then? I'm assuming most people don't have many issues with their devices?

  3. Which tablet would you recommend for someone who likes to watch a bit of youtube or listen to podcasts as well as get some homework done (google docs, email, internet browsing etc.) ?

Im hoping to connect my keyboard to the tablet and use it like a laptop.

Thanks guys :)

29 year old woman from Western Canada. Advice?

I've been in the food industry since I was a teen (fast food, line cook, bar tending) and then almost went to culinary school to get my red seal...Then the pandemic started and my course would've been completely through Zoom so I cancelled my application.

Due to lots of restaurants closing in my area, I ended up working full time at a bakery and have been cake decorating privately since. The moneys been decent so I stuck around. Years and years have gone by and I'm not even sure if I truly like what I'm doing anymore. I'm in need of a career change.

What trades do you suggest for someone in my shoes? Or even a diploma? I have great hand eye coordination and know how to work hard. I wouldn't mind a sit down job either.. something simple. Preferably not totally customer service based but I understand that I may not have a choice. I just know that the only way i learn is if it's hands on preferably.. but again, I'll manage and am not picky.

What's needed right now?
