B6 BW Failed to Meet Expectations

First of all, I was so excited when buying this device because I truly thought I had found the ideal e-reader. I expected it to be quite perfect, but unfortunately, I ended up disappointed. For that reason, I am going to give an honest review.

I didn't experience any issues during the purchasing process; I placed the order to my relatives' house in Germany, and they brought it with them when they came over. However, the problems started after that.

My expectations from an e-reader were a powerful processor, high screen quality, and software stability. The vast majority of my books are in PDF format, which is why I wanted a highly portable device with a powerful processor. The B6 BW seemed to fit this format perfectly. Unfortunately, it did not deliver the performance I wanted when running PDFs. For instance, when I rotate the screen horizontally for a more comfortable reading experience, the text turns from black to a whitish-gray. The reflow feature is very weak, directly causing the text color to turn into that same whitish-gray as I mentioned.

https://preview.redd.it/qrk2pnjfk8bh1.jpg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=23eaeb90973ef46691dbe8b9387f92c00f5de5fe

Another dealbreaker is that whether it is an ePub or a PDF, I cannot underline sentences with my finger. It constantly jumps to a different word and gets awkwardly stuck. Because of this, I can neither highlight important sections nor use the dictionary feature.

On the other hand, as a minor flaw, there are errors in the Turkish, English, and German text within the menu. Capitalization rules have been completely ignored. I assume these can be fixed with a software update.

Also, it freezes when sending files, this situation drives me insanely crazy. I literally can't share files, everything has become a hassle.

In short, I am not satisfied. I am going to sell it, as returning it is not possible due to my location.

I was previously using the Nova Air C, but its yellowish screen was bothersome; I prefer a white screen. Aside from skipping the black-and-white option, they haven't released a 7.8-inch device since then. I am open to any recommendations you might have.

B6 Color ... 😉👌🫵

Owning my B6 Color now for a while and I really enjoy it. Actually I really don't need more. 6" of happiness and the colors are really nice. I did a debloat the first day I received it, and it got slightly snappier and battery life improved somewhat.

B7 and B7 Pro Users, what do you do with the stylus when not in use?

I am trying out the B6 and really liking it, but I think the asymmetrical design of the B7 Pro would give my hand more to grip when reading. However, I expect my use case is reading most of the time and note taking occasionally.

When you are reading, what do you do with the stylus? Does it get in the way of navigation or add bulk and weight to the ereader? Do you take it off or tuck it away somehow?

Just got my B7, coming from a Meebook M6C

So far the B7 has been mostly better, apart from the screen and backlight.

When the backlight is very low or off, the Meebook seems to have better clarity. I think the better way to describe it is the matte glass on the B7 is "matte-ier", or "frostier", if you get what I mean. It's evening here and I need to see these two under sunlight to see if the increased matte on the B7 creates an advantage in that scenario.

The M6 also gets WAY brighter. That said, I think I've never used the M6C at more than 50% brightness, and 100% on the B7 is around 70% of Meebook so it's more than enough and not really something to be concerned about IMO.

Same story if you add the warm lights. 100% of the warm light on the B7 corresponds to 70% on the Meebook.

Other than these two, performance and features are on the B7's side.

Will be able to make a better comparison in a few weeks of usage.

Bigme B751C stylus alternatives

I sadly lost my stylus on a bus ride, and I'm really not interested in shelling out 50 bucks for a new one. I have a Bamboo Ink Plus, which is a Wacom AES pen as far as I know, and should be compatible. It refuses to stay connected to Bluetooth.

Are there any other cheaper alternatives that could likely work with Bigme products like the B751C?

Hibreak Pro Audio playback issues

I'm trying to find a fix for two issues:

  1. Spotify/audible cutting out when I'm listening to them. I've tried locking the apps, setting them to unrestricted battery. Doesn't seem to work. I have to constantly regularly open my phone and press play which is really annoying, especially as I bought this phone to enjoy more audio content amongst other things. Is there a fix?

  2. I have some USB-C headphones. They also regularly just cut out. Also when I'm doing calls, so I'm talking to someone and then I can't hear them. It just randomly switches from the headphones to ear speaker mid conversation so I cant hear who I'm talking to. Is there a fix for this?

I've never had a phone which I love and hate so much at the same time. I always thought iPhones were overratted and now I'm praying that they make an e ink phone that just works on the basic things. That said it's still really good in many ways and better for my health, so I continue on ..

Issue with kindle

I just got my b6 today and set it up but anytime I try to open any of the books on the kindle app I get a message saying that it can't open because it's out of date. I did update the B6 software, delete and re-download the kindle app but it continues. I don't know what I'm doing wrong and just want to read my books 😭
