Anyone else pre-order the Dual 3?

Just ordered the dual 3 with detachable LCD.

https://store.bigme.vip/products/bigme-hibreak-dual-3-85fps-dual-eink-smartphone-with-detachable-color-lcd

While I am pleased with the e-ink display of my Dual 2, I find the rear LCD screen (and stupid-ass AI assistant) useless.

I have high hopes for the Dual 3 and hope that it is good enough that I don't get tempted by the TCL P80 ultra that maybe gets released in the US early next year.

PS5, DD Pro and The Crew Motorfest key mapping issue

There are certain game mechanics in The Crew-Motorfest on the PS5 that require you to use the PS5 controller touchpad such as DEPLOY and ENGAGE. There is no such touchpad on the DD Pro, nor are there button equivalents.

In the remapping section of the options there are no bindings for DEPLOY or ENGAGE. Thus, if you play this game on a PS5 using a DD Pro wheel, you cannot access many important features.

The only workaround for this is to have an active PS5 controller in your lap as you play the game in order to press the touchpad when needed.

I'm glad I finally have a workaround for this but there should have been a more elegant solution.

Lockly Visage smart lock install

I just installed a Lockly Visage smart lock and I have a few helpful hints for future buyers.

The installation video and instructions are all geared toward their v1.0 lock. That version has an external wired door sensor. The V2.0 lock has a magnetic door strike plate which eliminates the need for the external wired door sensor. The door sensor determines if the door is open or closed.

I have a v2.0 lock which is indicated by a label on the bottom of the box that says "v2.0". While I was following the Official Lockly installation video, nothing was mentioned about the wire extending from the deadbolt and nothing about the orange dots on the strike plate or deadbolt plate.

v2.0 has a magnetic sensor on the bolt, and its wire needs to be fed through the door along with the external housing touchscreen wire harness. The internal housing will have a recipient plug for the bolt sensor wire along with a plug for the external touchscreen wire harness and one for the antenna. The wires from the external housing and internal plugs are mentioned in the video but nothing about the bolt wire.

Also note that the bolt plate has an orange sticker in the upper left, your door frame strike plate also has an orange sticker and you need to install the strike plate in an orientation that matches the door sticker. My door plate had the sticker in the upper left, my door strike plate had to be installed so it's sticker was in the upper right. Guess who installed it wrong the first time....

My v2.0 box included the external door sensor, that must be a failure of QC because the magnetic door plate already does what it was supposed to do and there were no extra wires sticking out of the lock to plug it into.

All in all it was a pretty straightforward lock install but a few tweaks to the video and install instructions would have made it effortless.

It's only been installed for a few hours but I've installed the Android app, setup some fingerprints, touchscreen codes and even integrated it with Alexa and it has so far worked flawlessly.

Where is the DEPLOY button?

New to the game, about 40 hours in, working my way through the playlists and I keep seeing dialog boxes pop up on the upper left of the screen. Sometimes they are rivals, sometimes they are challenges and there is a button icon on the bottom that says "DEPLOY". But the icon is a circle with a line that indicates it is a unassigned button function. I've gone through all the settings and I cannot find DEPLOY anywhere to assign to a button. I'm using a Fanatec PS5 compatible wheel on the PS5.

How can I activate these challenges?

Sonos Arc, why no adaptive volume?

I have a Sonos Arc and I can't understand why a state of the art sound bar does not have adaptive volume? Everytime my AC comes on I have to raise the volume, and then when it goes off, turn it down. My friggin cars have had this for like 15 years, why did Sonos drop the ball with this?

Bigme Hibreak Dual software update

The Bigme Hibreak Dual has recently gotten a much needed software update from the original 1.4.6 to 1.5.2.

This is not an Android update, it's still stuck on v14, this is a BigmeOS upgrade and it it is a HUGE improvement.

When I got the phone on release day I was appalled that there was no "all apps" view. On any other android phone you would swipe up from the bottom and it would show all your installed app icons. On release, the Dual had all pre-installed apps dumped onto the home screen. And if you installed any of your apps, it would dump them there also.

3 weeks later they have released an update which has fixed many of the original problems. You can swipe up to get your installed app list and the stupid AI assistant notification can finally be turned off.

Who knows what other improvements there are because they didn't release any patch notes. I don't know if this update fixed installing your phone's existing apps to the Bigme because it was a terrible experience compared to any other phone I've ever had.

Since Android 14 is approaching end of life, I really hope they support this phone and update it to the current version.

Somehow lost Wildfyre. Is that a bug?

I was in SOLA doing the Saving Grace mission. During the fight, on the main stage, while switching, I must have dropped Wildfyre, my absolute favorite weapon. I died during the fight and when I respawned way back away from the main stage, the slot that had Wildfyre was empty. I spent the next attempt (and other attempts because that mission is a BITCH!) at the main stage looking for my dropped weapon but there was nothing there.

Because I dropped it and died, does the game just say, "fuck you, you lost your weapon forever".?

Are there any builds for a fire axe that can replicate the awesomeness that is Wildfyre?

I pre-ordered (early-bird) a Bigme Hibreak Dual a week ago with the understanding it was being released in late May which I was totally fine with. But today I checked the order and it says "expected by May 1st". What??? Has anyone else ordered one and see the same thing?

And while it said "Free Shipping", I totally forgot about tariffs (US). Looks like a $90 extra bill coming my way.....
