IIRC this is the only MiG‑21 variant with a chin‑mounted intake.

Developed on industry self‑funding in the late 1990s, it adopted a chin‑mounted intake to free up nose volume for a larger pulse‑doppler radar. First flight June 8, 1998; all trials concluded early‑2003. Only two prototypes were ever built; no series production followed.

This is the first time I've seen the B-21's control surfaces from this angle, and I realized that instead of using split rudders like the B-2/X-47B/J-36, it relies on a series of independent trailing-edge surfaces that use differential deflection to manage yaw.

If you only look at the paint scheme, you might think these two belong to the same navy.

Those blocky shapes are a mix of factory composite panel boundaries plus local stealth‑coating repairs. The early‑gen RAM on F‑22 ages poorly and requires frequent patching instead of full repaints.
