Does anyone have a source or map show all of the railroads for the entire continent of North and South America?
Sorry if this doesn't fit here. I'm writing a novel that takes place post-apocalypse and one of the major survival groups has taken up residence on the rails. It's very much ragtagged mix-matched Amtrak cars, and whatever they can scavenge. The idea is that the train connects tons of survivor camps together and they're better equipped to get resources since they're mobile. Not to mention, it's a vampire apocalypse, so securing some garlic and stakes to the front of a several ton moving vehicle tends to be a pretty efficient method of killing them. These camps, and the route that the train takes would all be called "the loop".
What I'm trying to figure out is, In this post-apocalyptic scenario where all rails are available for anything that'll fit on them, is there a way that this loop could also include some of Canada and Mexico? Essentially, what routes exist that include the maximum amount of area that can reasonably be "looped"?
