Recent doctors appointment

I went to a specialist yesterday. Context: at the beginning of my pregnancy I had one liver enzyme that was very slightly elevated so they sent me to a specialist. I got labs redone and yesterday was the followup. My liver enzyme is now solidly in the normal range. I have also somehow lost weight during this pregnancy. My OBs have no concerns about this and they definitely aren't encouraging me to lose weight during pregnancy.

Anyway, the first thing this liver doctor said to me at the follow up was 'ok, tell me how you are working on losing weight?'

It really rubbed me the wrong way like I'm not trying to lose weight, I'm trying to have a healthy body for me and my baby.

Babysitting question

Hi,

I am supposed to babysit on Friday evening. I was told today that their daughter was treated for head lice yesterday. They have also had their house thoroughly cleaned.

I'm trying to decide if I feel comfortable babysitting though. I'm a little extra nervous because I'm pregnant. The family also said they are willing to get a second professional treatment Friday morning if that would make me feel more comfortable.

What are your thoughts?

Anyone have experience with echo/EKG tests?

Hey, my blood pressure at doctors offices has been high since before my pregnancy but none of them suggested I monitor at home until I got pregnant because my blood pressure always went back to normal or close to normal when they tested it again. Now that I'm pregnant, I'm on labetalol and monitoring my blood pressure at home. My doctor also wants me to get an echo and EKG done because she doesn't know how long exactly my blood pressure has been high and she wants to make sure my heart is ok.

I'm really nervous about these tests. Has anyone else had these done and what were your experiences?

Doula recommendations

Hi all!

I'm thinking about getting a doula for extra support through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I have no idea where to start looking.

I'm working with obs at Johns Hopkins(Baltimore, MD) currently and I'm 13 weeks.

If anyone has any suggestions that would be awesome! Thanks in advance.

When did you all have your first ultrasound?

I just had my initial prenatal appointment yesterday. Based on my LMP I should be 10 weeks 3 days but I have PCOS and my cycles are on average 38-40 days long. So, idk if baby is actually measuring that far along. I really thought I would get an ultrasound at the first appointment to confirm pregnancy and to figure out how far along I am. I asked about it and the midwife said nope, that happens at 12 weeks.

Idk it felt super disappointing and dismissive. Maybe it's a good thing because I'm not experiencing any concerning pregnancy symptoms that could mean something is wrong. At the same time, I really want to see my baby! My husband and I have been trying/getting our health in order since we got married almost 4 years ago.
