Consumer role in Capitalism

Hello. I'm not formally educated in any economics related field, but I have long resonated with the principals (what I've been taught) of capitalism and i have always considered the consumer to have a role in making desired changes (ex: boycotting a company for political reasons) rather than always top down policy.

I am in college and I did a presentation on Eleanor Roosevelt for my US history class last semester and I recall her statements about the National Consumers League; women as the primary consumers could create change with their consumer power.

What would this look like on a small, community scale? I have a partial commercial space located very well at the edge of my community, but the staff are very shitty people and there is even a neighborhood Facebook specifically for this store to share bad experiences and who is boycotting. It's unfortunate because this location is extremely convenient; almost like our neighborhood has *its own* store.

So I feel a small calling to prove the ability of a community to realistically improve their commercial surroundings. Besides personal boycotts, what are some bottom-up tools that consumers can create change in a situation like this? We want the store to stay, but the people inside to be changed.

With no frame of reference, I'm limited only by my imagination. Would a petition be something that leads to a business change? Can you put up signs on city grass regarding the establishment, like those signs for political campaigns? Where are the boundaries to making change?

This is not meant to be a political discussion on Consumer role or Capitalism.

Thanks

Political manifesto

Hello. This post deals with Philosophy, sociology, metaphysics, political theory

My intention is not to be pretentious. I'm not pretending to be a philosopher or anything worth respect.

I have put together some ideas that I believe is a coherent world view, and I would like to move beyond asking ChatGPTs opinion and ask real people, before potentially taking this to professors I'm acquainted with. Please, be honest and critical but not discouraging.

Some my ideas: I argue that morality can be extracted from entropy and thermodynamics. I have split order into two groups, systemic and Cosmetic, and more.

The draft will be put in the first comment; yes, it was written by AI. The ideas are mine and I understand AI enough to use it properly. I didn't edit it, so the wording is cringe is some areas. I will obviously write successive drafts.

Thank you very much, I really mean it.

Strike Team secretly great in 11th?

Speaking directly about their "Suppression Volley" ability, gives a malice of -1 to hit roll of an enemy infantry.

Combined with Benefit of Cover, which is now a Ballistic Skill modifier, a Suppressed enemy shooting into Cover will effectively be getting a -2 to Datasheet hit roll. Marines hitting (ranged) on 5s

This also worsens any melee hit rolls from any charges, potentially from 3+ to 4+ on big scary charge infantry.

I have a single Strike Team in my list anyways as Bodyguard for Ethereal, but as I put everything together for my first game in 11th, I noticed how the change to Cover has also buffed this under-appreciated 70 point unit of ours, stacking to drop enemy BS by 2

What do you guys think? Does this 11th edition change to Cover stack surprisingly well with Strike Team's ability, or is the ability/ unit just as mediocre as it was before?

Thanks

Pathfinders, 11th edition Hazardous, Ion vs Rail Rifle

It seems to be a popular consensus that Ion Rifles are the better option for Pathfinders, but will this change now that Hazardous will fail on 2s?

MEQ can still save Ion shots, while they cannot save Rail shots. Rail Rifles are in this regard both reliable and 0 risk.

With invulns everywhere, Volume tends to reign but with double the risk of failing Hazardous on a 1w bearer, I'm not sure that the volume put out by standard Ion is justified. Pathfinders fully equipped already have another 24 shots of S5 pulse and Burst fire. Rail Rifles can also punch up, making the Pathfinders capable of handling GEQ, MEQ, and Elite

What do you guys think?

IMHO: Tau should get more Indirect Fire. Also, Hammerhead fix

We don't really have the defense to hold or contest objectives, and for this reason I feel that the Tau would solve this problem by shooting the objective they can't take with artillery.

I'm sure that's in Sun Tzus Art of War somewhere. If you cant hold the ground, you make the enemy pay for taking it.

The Smart Missile System availability is sparse; Riptide even has worse version with 3A (probably a typo). No dedicated Indirect in the codex.

Using forward observers to coordinate with artillery, is like a basic military concept. We have the forward observers, but we lack the artillery

****

Also, I see a lot of talk about how the Railgun for the Hammerhead is more of a meme weapon and isn't really effective so isn't taken. That's because of how common Invulnerable saves are.

My proposed solution is to give the Railgun {Anti-Vehicle 5+}, effectively doubling the chances of Mortal Wounds. Feel No Pains is less common.

What do you guys think?

Best way to get a Firesight Team?

Hello, Firesight kits seem to be no longer printed officially, and some of the STL files online are less than ideal.

Other people kitbash, but I'm not sure where I'm supposed to get the torso from because none of my GW sprus have any extra torsos (obviously).

Last question, would the GW store allow a proxy for this unit since they don't produce them anymore?

Looking for the best proxy or substitute for Firesight Team, thank you
