The little “uuahh” that occurs between the lines “we tremble when you’re near” & “caught in between love and fear” might be the best part of loathes discography😭😭 that whole part of the song though, when they combine the melodic instrumental w the vocal fry is just superb. “THE FORMER ERAAAASED”. Everyone saying the mixing sucks on the new tracks need to try listening to them with the really cool super crazy sick fun part of their brain instead of the lame bozo doo doo part of their brain. The mixing on these tracks are just as unique and intentioned as ILIAITE, just different. I’ve never heard a crunchier more pent up instrumental sound in metalcore or its surrounding genres. Shi sounds like blocks of sand the size of K2 being shot into each other at Mach 7 creating a Hiroshima little boy level explosion (more so on GEF & Revenant but my point remains)
Some of their acoustic bits are just so beautiful like the outro to heavy is the head & the new gifted every strength outro etc…
The Cold Sun does not get the recognition or praise I think it deserves. This project is a genuine 10/10 for me. The passion, energy, and melodies are at such a high it’s insane to me. There are times listening to this project where I almost want to say it’s better than ILIAITE but I think they’re both perfect.
