Differin 0.1 cream, on and off since January, skin is the worst it has ever been?

I started Differin 0.1 cream in January, and experienced some breakouts on areas that are normally clear. I thought it was just a purge but my skin never really recovered. I used Differin 3 x per week, and no improvement. I stopped for a bit while using my usual steps - the ordinary glycolic acid and niacinamide 10% + zinc. I also started using Finacea 15% in the morning + moisturiser + SPF 50.

I started using Differin again and aiming for 2 x a week. But I'm so discouraged. My once clear, bump less skin is now a warzone. My forehead has 2-3 deep painful cysts that don't have a head, but feels like a bad mosquito bite.

I started adapalene because I wanted to start prescription retinoids for long-term maintenance. Not sure where to go from here.

didn't score the top so there's no visual texture

the inside was a lil chewy, I might have over kneaded it

overall i'm kinda happy for my first time

hey all

I'm still doing my BSc so I'm just thinking long term here. But I plan to do a part time masters when I qualify as a diagnostic radiographer. I'm eligible for the post graduate loan so I won't need my employer to fund anything. Has anyone done a part time masters while working full time? How did you work it around your shifts?

My masters would be in clinical research or public health, and TBH my main motivation for doing a masters is because it's a personal goal, not necessarily to strengthen my CV/portfolio.
