Aoe levelling after nerf

Aoe levelling after nerf

tldr: Level 36 Horde mage looking for good AoE farming spots after the solo dungeon farming nerfs. Any recommendations? Is ZF farming dead too?

Hello guys,

I started a Horde mage because I wanted to try the class, and I decided to level through AoE farming since it looked incredibly fun in all the videos I'd seen. And honestly, it was. I had a great time, especially in Hillsbrad whenever there weren't any Alliance players around. The problem is that once you hit level 31, Hillsbrad pretty much stops being worthwhile, so you need to move somewhere else.

At first I started doing SM spell cleave groups, and it worked well enough. The downside is that you need a proper group, and finding one consistently isn't always easy. Between that and the Midsummer event, I eventually reached level 36.

Then I found what looked like an amazing guide for solo farming SM as a mage. I was so excited that I studied the video, learned the pulls, bought everything I needed, and gave it a try.

I died. Then I died again. And again.

That's when I realized the guide was outdated because Blizzard had already nerfed solo mage dungeon farming.

So... now I'm back to looking for a good place to level. I checked Icy Veins, but there aren't many AoE farming suggestions for mages around level 36. The only spot I found was Arathi, but the mobs there are green (around level 30-31), so it doesn't seem very efficient.

Can anyone recommend a better place to AoE farm at level 36?

Also, does this mean Zul'Farrak solo farming is dead too? I kept reading that mage AoE leveling was supposed to be amazing XP, great gold, and a lot of fun, but right now it feels pretty discouraging.

Pic of my mage because she's precious.

Starting gear for a mage alt

Decided to finally try a caster class and started my female troll mage alt. I read in the past a lot of posts about items you can send to your alts to level up faster, like the +30 spell power skinning dagger. Is there any other suggested items / gearing path you can suggest me to level up this little girl as fast as possible? Gold shouldn't be an issue, although I don't really wanna spend in the thousands for this character.

Spineshatter Horde: Scryers more expensive?

Hello people,

I’ve heard a lot that the choice between Aldor and Scryers isn’t that important anymore these days, and that one should generally choose the faction they like more. I also read on Wowhead that Aldor was generally the preferred choice, and that marks and armor prices were higher for this reason, so one could go Scryers to save a bit of money.

I play Horde on Spineshatter, and I must say what I saw was very different. Most of the people seemed to go Scryers, and ring and book prices were much higher than the Aldor items.

I’m wondering if my perception was skewed because I was playing Horde, or maybe because the Scryers quarter has way more vendors and there are more reasons to just stick in that area and buy the stuff you need.

Did you notice the same thing on the Alliance side? Is this the same on other servers?

Tbc Darkmoon Faire

Tldr: how to farm darkmoon rep without bankruptcing myself?

Horde Spineshatter here.

As you may have noted, this month we finally have the Darkmoon Faire in front of Shattrath. I finally fixed most of my T5 set, and I was thinking of going back to my old hobby of farming niche factions rep. Tbh I know Darkmoon rep is useless, but I'd like for the green bar to fill and go over friendly.

Is buying cards and deck the only way to increase rep after you get the quest items soft cap? Where can I find more cards? Any suggestion if I don't wanna spend a thousand gold in AH?

Best pally spec for support levelling lock

TLDR: what spec should I go to support my newbie friend lock? What are the best stats?

Hello guys,

as in the title, I rolled a pally to help out a friend newbie who rolled a lock. Right now we are level 15, and I'm using a shield and a sword (belf). What spec do you suggest I could use between retri and protection?

I was thinking of going protection so we can also do some dungeon, and in general to be safer as my friend is literally at their first playthrough and I don't wanna spoil them the game telling them what to choose and so on.

Also, what stats should I prioritize levelling up? I know the lock should more or less try to find stamina and intellect gear (iirc!) but I never used a pally and have no idea how it works.

Support class for warlock

TLDR: newbie friend wanna play warlock, newbie me wants to chose a good class to go with them.

Hello veterans,

I finally managed to convince a friend of mine to play the game, and he wants to make a warlock. I wanna start an alt to play with him, without spoiling anything and just generally accompanying him through content.

I already have a hunter and a rogue, I'm now thinking about what class to choose for this new toon. I know I could just go with whatever but I'd like to choose something with good synergy.

After thinking about it I thought about two classes I never played, Paladin and Priest. Would go Paladin because I can tank and heal, and later I would be able to tank if we wanna go dung from 60 to 70. Would go priest because I've always been very curious about spriest, and in any case I could just heal later.

So, here is my question: what would be the best choice? What class do you suggest?
