I am considering bartending for a bit.
Still in academia, and my field has been hit hard with funding cuts. These past two years have been hell and I am exhausted. I know with my skills I can get a corporate job, but I don't even want to do that at this point.
Honestly, I just want to recalibrate and not make work a huge priority in my life. Just have a job where I can be social and not do science or anything related for a bit while being able to manage the bills.
Has anyone ever done this and did it help? Tbh with how low post docs pay bartending might even pay more.
