Caught my first LMB!
After coming on yesterday and posting about losing my first catch I went back out today and got my first one for real. Safe to say I’m hooked.

After coming on yesterday and posting about losing my first catch I went back out today and got my first one for real. Safe to say I’m hooked.
I’ve only been fishing for 2 days. Went to the Toccoa River in GA and hoping to catch anything. Yesterday was my wife’s birthday and she caught 11 little fish at a lake while I caught none on our first day ever fishing. While very happy for her, i was determined today to catch anything,Long story short I went past the rapids of the river (standing on rocks in the middle of the river) , cast down stream near a still spot after a few hours fishing other spots and after a jerk and another jerk I realized I had a real bite.
I pulled hard and here comes this fish! not a branch or some rock but a fucking fish!! I pulled it out and start screaming at my wife who’s like 60 years away that I caught the fish. It was beautiful and I could see the red of its gills through its mouth as I pulled it out to show her. I lifted it up and realized I had no idea what to do in the spot second I had between pulling it out and trying to get it fully caught. It’s wriggling I’m screaming she’s trying to get the camera and in a split second the fish hits the rock, then the water, unhooks and swims away.
Needless to say I’m racking my brain on what to do next and all I can think is get up early and go find somewhere and catch something. How do you real fishermen deal with this type of disappointment?
