Volume Profile Tick Increment
Hi this is directed to experienced traders.
I’ve been trading for a while now and recently started using profiling much more. I have been experimenting with different tick increments within my volume profile. I like the 1 tick as it gives levels based on the exact data but I see advantages to increasing this. For example I’ve been using the 5 tick recently testing that out and noticed that mostly the levels are only a few ticks or so different than the 1 tick profile whilst smoothing out the noise which is good for me. But some times the levels are massively shifted though they actually often seem like better levels as the value area for example can better reflect the actual shape of the period.
Im just wondering if anyone can provide some insight on which increment they use and why.
