Any idea what these are?

Found these on Bingley/Rombolds moor and wondered what they could be, they count up/down from 10 and then repeat never reaching 1 and seem to be equidistant from each other, the first 10 I saw were round and then the next were square. Anyone got any ideas?

I recently applied to a level 6 rail engineering (signalling) apprenticeship in York and had a video assessment centre but haven't heard anything (including on the portal) since even though the IRL assessment centre is on the 7th of May. Anyone know why I haven't heard anything and is it possible I may still have got to the next stage?
