Investigators Pursue New Leads in Rocky Creek Triple Homicide Case Pt. II

ROCKY CREEK — Investigators say they are making progress in the deaths of three family members found inside a home on 51st Street, though no arrests have been announced.

According to police, detectives have identified and interviewed multiple persons of interest as they continue to examine evidence collected from the scene. Among those being scrutinized is 29-year-old Elijah Carter, who investigators say was linked to a vehicle that appears similar to one captured by neighborhood security cameras during the early morning hours of the incident.

Authorities emphasized that Carter has not been charged with any crime and remains only one of several individuals being investigated.

Security footage reportedly showed a vehicle matching the color and general appearance of Carter’s car arriving near the residence at approximately 1:29 a.m. and leaving around 3:58 a.m. Investigators are working to determine whether the vehicle seen in the footage is the same one registered to Carter. Police sources say partial license plate information from the recordings appears similar to Carter’s vehicle registration, but forensic verification is still underway.

Detectives have continued conducting interviews and interrogations in an effort to establish a timeline of events leading up to the deaths of Darren James, 38, Anna Walkers, 35, and David Rico, 11.

Meanwhile, biological evidence recovered from the residence has been submitted to the Denise Forensic and Criminal Justice District for analysis. Officials are awaiting DNA test results that could potentially identify individuals who were present inside the home around the time of the killings.

Investigators cautioned that DNA findings may take time to process and that any results must be corroborated with additional evidence before conclusions can be drawn.

The neighborhood remains shaken as police maintain an active presence around the crime scene. Portions of the area remain restricted while forensic teams complete their examination of the property.

“We are following every lead available,” a police spokesperson said during a brief media update. “Our priority is determining exactly what happened and ensuring that whoever is responsible is held accountable through the justice system.”

Authorities continue to request information from the public, particularly from anyone who may have observed unusual activity on or near 51st Street during the early morning hours in question.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Family of Three Found Dead in Rocky Creek Neighborhood; Police Investigating

ROCKY CREEK — Authorities are investigating the deaths of three family members after a disturbing discovery at a home on 51st Street in the Rocky Creek neighborhood early Friday morning.

According to preliminary information, a vehicle was seen arriving near the residence at approximately 1:29 a.m. Witnesses later reported that the same vehicle departed the area around 3:58 a.m. Investigators have not released details about the vehicle or whether it is connected to the case.

A neighbor told police he was awakened by what he described as screams coming from the direction of the home at approximately 5:00 a.m. Concerned, he went to check on the family. After receiving no response at the door, he began looking around the property and made a grim discovery.

Inside the residence, authorities found three victims identified as 38-year-old Darren James, 35-year-old Anna Walkers, and 11-year-old David Rico.

Emergency responders and police officers arrived shortly afterward and secured the scene. Crime scene tape was placed around the property, and officers blocked access to portions of 51st Street while investigators examined the residence.

Throughout the morning, detectives, forensic specialists, and evidence technicians worked inside and outside the home, documenting the scene and collecting potential evidence. Officials have not disclosed the cause of death or whether any suspects have been identified.

Neighbors described the incident as shocking and said the family was well known in the area.

Police have asked anyone who may have seen suspicious activity between 1:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. to contact investigators. Authorities say the investigation remains active as they work to determine exactly what happened inside the home and whether the vehicle seen overnight played a role in the tragedy.

No arrests have been announced.
